DayZ, which was free of course but bought ArmA II Gold to run it. At least I have ArmA II to play around with so not a total loss.

Far cry 2, not because of the quality of the game (from what my friends say, its an unforgettable experience), but because I didn't compare my computers specs against the requirements and can't run it.

HOI3 is a great game but its definitely got more of a learning curve than CKII (haven't played Victoria). Stick with it and you might find you love it.

I've regretted buying...

F1 2012 (absolutely never buying a Codebastards game again)

CLOD (for obvious reasons)

Black Ops 2 (what was I thinking?)

Battlefield 3 (again, what was I thinking?)

DCS P51 and Combined Arms

On the plus side, I am really enjoying Panzer Corps, and BMS Falcon is waiting in the wind.

2013 Is going to be the year I play the games I already have. No new purchases. Wish me luck! Lol

Out of curiosity, what didn't you like about it?

Awesome thread...

Black Ops 2 - Why did I think it would be different?

DCS Combined Arms - Awful

Team Assault: Baptism of Fire - I'll consider it a donation to Slitherine for Panzer Corps. Did anyone beta test this?

Combat Mission: Fortress Italy - Same old engine that performs poorly on most systems, literally no engine enhancements to their already lifeless campaign system.

Mech Warrior Online: Legendary Founders Pack

I immediately regretted supporting this game as soon as it loaded up.

Wow, why? It's still in beta with the biggest features yet to come, but what was so bad about it?

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare - I usually avoid online only games and for good reason. Only got this a week ago and regret it a bit already. Especially crap when you have a high ping.

Galactic Civilisations 2 - Wasn't released in 2012 but I just got it this year. Was ok at first and don't regret buying so much as I just got bored of it really quickly long before I even came close to finishing the campaign.

DCS: Combined Arms - Wasn't worth the price but I don't regret it because it's only in beta and I'm sure I'll come back to it later when there's a few more tutorials/missions/other stuff to do.

Came back to it later when I didn't need a quick gaming fix and it became one of the best games I've played. However, if you aren't in the mood, it's torturous. LOL
Otherwise, I wish they'd used that storyline for one of the reboot movies. It's THAT good. So slow though, few games are designed to be that long nowadays. Not easy to get going on a game built on 9 year old tech to enjoy it, I don't blame you for your 2012 opinion.

I'll admit, I bought it exactly because of user testimonies I encountered all over including reviews. There are other classics in my list like Syberia (adventure game) and Sonic (platformer). I don't doubt the quality of some of the games I listed. I just feel like I bought them too early.

Only one game for me: The Bard's Tale. Got it cheap via Steam sale so no big deal though.

The idea of a humorous action RPG that doesn't take itself seriously is great, but the actual gameplay is hampered by extreme repetition and balancing issues.

Example: during one quest we have to escort an NPC and eliminate enemies behind barricades. This is fun the 1st time. And the 2nd time. After the 3rd time it gets boring. And after the 12th barricade you want to kill something furry. Add in no manual saving and a checkpoint well before a difficult boss battle and you'll understand...

Just a heads up, that game now comes with first 3 Bard's Tale games. I think they are located in the games own folder (which is where extras such as soundtracks are also usually located)

Hi If you are talking about Flaming Cliffs 3 well basically beta or not it just soes NOT Offer a Study sim level like DCS had promised, I mean isnt that the reason they said they will not do a Apache Longbow because they couldnt make it 100% REal..then they release this garbage.. Im sorry but they should not have bothered..

While I still support ED adn there projects I just felt robbed withthis release..I normally dont complain but if they say they wont do a Apach because of realism and then turn around and release FC3 Im sorry just not happening..

I'll be happy just flying training missions for A10c and KA-50, heck like I said I dont complain much but I can even find and decent number of missions to fly so it feels as if I am just stuck running the training missions and other quick combat for lack of content..

Well the planes in FC3 are totally absurd. whilest if they where all done to A10C specs or to the level of detail as they did with A10C I would have been a happy camper especailly with the F15..

But I felt as I was just playing the old FC2 rehashed most pits where the same no clickable switches yadyayada yada..

I would have been happy if they kept their promise and released the FC3 Planes at the level of the A10C..even if it was only 1 every year or so..Sorry Major Fail..

Flaming cliffs has never intended to offer study sim level as it has always been sold as a survey sim. I don't know where you read that ED said it would be a study sim of all the included aircraft but they never said it as far as I know.

This is my understanding as well. Only the SU-25T, A-10C and KA-50 were designed and advertised as being "study sim" level. The other platforms like the MiG-29, F-15 and SU-27 were not.

I just remembered a couple more:

1: Elder Scrolls-Skyrim

I got it to see what all the fuss was about, but those dragons just didn't light my fire!

2: All the stuff I bought at Steam (okay that was 2011, but as I've not been able to play them all year I think it still counts). I changed my e-mail and forgot to change it in my profile. Then I reinstalled Win7 and after reinstalling Steam it said I was a hacker and it was sending a security confirmation to my e-mail address - of course, the old one. I sent a support request at the time (18 months ago) and another about a month or so ago - both have been ignored.

AFAIC Steam stole the money that I could barely afford in the first place. I will never trust them again - didn't like them before that, but my clanmates were all using it to play various games, so I relented. Look where it got me.

Surprised on Gal Civ 2 - one of my favorite games of all time. I have NEVER played the campaign, however - only "sandbox" games.
