March 27, 2006 There are two versions of ReadTable available to track crashes to desktop. One version is for Windows XP, while the other is for Windows 98. If you are having CTD problems, please download the appropriate version and follow the instructions in the readme. Cilck Here For Downloads

Will this affect a flight that has no CTD? I ask because I will leave it on and submit CTD reports as I get them.

This should have no effect if there is no CTD.

How to use it online in HP? See, when I point to F-18's exe it starts the game immediately.
I had an unexplainable CTD today, so wanted to run this debug next time when flying online. Never had this CTD online/offline before. Just curious. Thanks.

I assume that is a typo and should be HL? (i.e. hyperlobby).
The best way to use it during online play is to not use hyperlobby, but to join by IP. If you know a session has just started, ask for the host IP via comms or IM. Start the sim via ReadTable, then click on "Multiplayer", "TCP/IP", and "Join". You can then manually enter the host IP and join the session, and if the executable crashes you will have a log.

UPDATE: ReadTable 2.0 has been released. There are separate programs for WinXP and Win98. Please see the top post.

I'm a visiting fireman here, from Euro Air War. Your CTD tracker sounds useful. Is it only meant for Jane's F/A-18? I see the link to TSH forums is private. --Wudpecker

I don't know if it only works for JF-18. I suppose you could try it out.
The links are to public TSH downloads. I'm not sure what you mean by "I see the link to TSH forums is private."

Joe, I run JF18 with DXTweaker. Is there a way to start JF18 through ReadTable and DXTweaker? BTW, my CTDs always happen when I'm tracking a ground object (stationary or moving) with the ATFLIR. They don't happen everytime I track an object, but when CTDs do happen, it's when I'm using the ATFLIR.

knot,
I don't know how to do that. I would suggest that you simply don't use DXTweaker for tracking purposes. It is possible that DXTweaker is causing the crash, of course.

Joe,
Hmmm, yes, that possibility crossed my mind too; but IIRC, it was CTDing with ATFLIR tracking even before I started using DXTweaker. Nevertheless, for CTD tracking I'll not use DXTweaker, as you suggest. Thanks

Joe, I have never had issues linking up in hyperlobby until recently. Tonight for example, I get into the game and am sitting at the "Partyline", the host loads the game and for some reason I only see the lower download progress bar and the game is stuck. Any suggestions?

Check for Bloated Pilot Syndrome...
See the FAQ for more info. Basically, sometimes a Pilot file grows out of control and causes a CTD when exiting a mission.
