I'm trying to install patch 4.11.1 right now so I can play DBW. But when I install 4.10.1 and run the game, it instantly crashes. Same thing if I then install 4.11 and 11.1 as well as the hotfix, it just crashes. I click run, the window pops up, I see a black screen then the black screen disappears and the game has crashed.

Why isn't this working, I'm installed this same game with these patches before on this computer and it worked fine.

Welp, spent all god damn day downloading the 14 parts of the mod you linked andddd not a single god damn bit of it works. I extracted all the files to the appropriate directory within steamapps, I tried using the il2 selector which causes the game to crash after launching, I tried enabling the things in the JSGME folder. Basically I can't get a single #%&*$# thing that has to do with this mod or any other mod to work.

What a nightmare this game and the mods made for it have turned out to be. I also don't want 4.10 I want 4.11 and the AI improvements that come along with it.

You'll have to wait for DBW 1.71 to be upgraded to 4.11/1. By then, 4.12 will probably be out and "we" may be in the same boat again waiting for DBW to be,once again, in need of being upgraded.

As it stands now, DBW 1.71 is patched only up to 4.10.1m

Just fly 4.11.1 stock or fly DBW 1.71_4.10.1m.

..edit.. You can also "fly" HSFX if you want "realism" since it installs over 4.11.1.

if it crashes at 5% 20% 70% that can indicate where the problem is.
I don't use the DBW mod so I can't tell you what to check, but the Steam version has a different exe. (mine is 156kb) and could cause you issues I remember giving someone a copy of mine so they could remove the entire install to a different location out of Steam and mod it and that was what fixed it. Did your Mod in 14 parts have a hash check included to verify the files, shouldn't be too hard to disable it and run vanilla IL-2, if not something is not installed correctly if it's not patched and the mod requires version 4.xx it won't run correctly either, and some of the mods don't use the most up to date patch for whatever reason.

Nevermind, 1.29 for ROF came out, no longer need Il2 again. Thanks for the help :P

You can't get that with DBW or UP. The only mod pack that is compatible with 4.11.1 is HSFX. You spent several days trying to accomplsh something that greater minds than yours could not do in weeks .. so Suck it up and either do as I said above . or put multiple install son your PC of the sim. You can do one to 4.10.1 and another to 4.11.1.. That is up to you.

Funny since I had UP3 working on 4.11 when it came out...hmmm
