I haven't done the math, so I don't know if I've spent more on ROF than any other sims.

I have everything in ROF except the St Mihiel campaign, the personalization packs, and a couple of weapons and field mods that I haven't gotten around to yet. However, I spent that over a 2 year period.
I bought every Il-2 release through 1946, and technically those all added on to the first release. That was over a 6+ yr period.
I've bought every title and expansion and a majority of the DLC from Thirdwire from SFP1 through Wings over Israel and First Eagles and then starting over with First Eagles 2 and SF2 through North Atlantic. That's over a 10 year period.

I lost interest in MSFS around number 5, but I know of people who've spent a LOT more than I've spent on all those together on addons for FS9 and FSX.

BoS I will see what happens.

Well ROF is the only game I've ever spent over 200$ on, I don't know how much value I've gotten out of it in terms of time spent playing it since it doesn't track your time in game accurately. But I suspect I've gotten equal and possibly even greater joy and more time out of typical 60$ games.

What I'm looking forward to is seeing how 777 and 1C handle this game out of the gate, with ROF they picked up a half started game and have been building onto that which sucks since the game engine and everything was made for multiplayer dogfighting and not missions or single player, that's how I understand it at least. Maybe with BOS we'll see a more fleshed out and ready game from the start, then the addons will be actual addons instead of hopeful additions of missing features and such.

With leadership of 777, I think next "IL-2" will be good. Hopefully UbiCrap will stay away from this product.

Just gimme an @ss-kickin' campaign that incorporates all of the airplanes I've spent a considerable amount of money on and are ALREADY AVAILABLE as "targets" in ROF (that I never get to engage) and you have my blessings to move on in your new endeavor!!!

I too hope Ubi doesn't get their mitts on this one. And I hope they stay away from Steam as well. I will not buy anything requiring Steam. It's the only reason I never bought ClOD.

More than anything I want to pound ground in a IL-2 with top notch graphics.

Let it be so.

Great news...but only if a dynamic campaign is intended and developed from the very start.
Even better - hire on Patrick A Wilson or Paul Lowengrin (3rd party DCG creator - IL2) or both to help develop it. charge

+1

Mr Wilson and Mr Lowengrin have done so much to keep these games fresh.

I'm so looking forward to a WII sim with 777 involved - can't friggin wait!
I said in another post that in my fantasy it was a "Slot" map, carriers, Zekes and Wildcats.
I SOOO want to land a 777 Zeke on a carrier.

I'll happily take an early war Russian front sim for now - anything early war was always the best in IL2.

RoF future, I guess that will be on holt now, I hope I'm wrong, but until I do not see any prove, I will keep my Paypal closed.

Not that odd . . . we seem to believe we are entitled to whatever (kind of sim) we want, for minimal (<$60) cost, just because we are ourselves . . . about par for the course in the western world.

I have nearly everything from RoF, but now I will wait on what the real plans are. I can not believe that such a small team can handle RoF and a complete development of a entire different game, first I will see whats going on!! So this has nothing to do with protecting my money and I do not know if the rest will follow you on that point.
