if Hot Plugging is Supported by Both MB and HDD and ACHI is Enabled in the BIOS and Windows has the correct drivers loaded.
Just a matter of leaving the cable plugged into the MB, Set the HDD in the Mount/Rack. Plug in SATA Cable, then Power.
to Disconnect, Right Click Icon on taskbar, select HDD and "Unplug" option, then remove power, then SATA Cable.
I used a Drive bay rack for a few weeks, and that's the method I used.
