There is now some info about the DLC at the official home page

Deep Silver and X1 Software/AWAR today announced “D-Day”, an add on pack for the tactical World War II shooter “Iron Front – Liberation 1944”. The DLC takes the player to the western scene of the war. In the Normandy, the Allied armed forces fight against the German troops. ”D-Day” will be released in December 2012 and will be exclusively available for PC.

sounds interesting ... no word on price yet

I figured the DLC would be on the Western Front, to make the game more marketable to a larger audience.

I wonder if the I44 mod will be added to Iron Front and be made payware or if the D-Day DLC is entirely new, made by these guys.

Ooh Ooh where ? I just wonder if they might of thought to remember The Brits, Canadians, Commonwealth and European elements of D-day. Or do we go down the Omaha route again ? Not complaining I'm sure it will be an excellent addon......

Edit...better Spell Omaha right, instead of Ohmama. LOL, I can however spell Gold, Juno and Sword correctly first time

Well we can hope, I am looking forward to this one though, be good to get the Armour system in on the Western Front, just have to edit scenarios with a bunch of Shermans, if its all Yank. (No offence Colonial cousins) Maybe they will field a 76mm version

This is great news. Everyone always wants to coop the Russians (which I hate because I dislike their basic equipment). At least now I can play on the Allied side without having to deal with the Russian crap (although their tanks are b!7@#in).

I was hoping for Brit/Commonwealth. Who in their right mind would want to fly a Jug when there's a Tiffie on offer?

This D-Day DLC is great news but I was also hoping to see Commonwealth (British and Canadian) units as well!

Don't get me wrong but I'm tired to always seeing the 'D-Day'='Omaha Beach'='Americans'='101st'='etc... regarding other American stuff' formula when it gets to WWII (specially regarding the D-Day part). The British and the Canadians where just as important as the Americans regarding D-Day - the British landed on 2 beaches (the same as Americans) and the Canadians landed on one beach (Juno).

An another reason why IMO having Commonwealth forces in the D-Day DLC would be great is that the Commonwealth forces have the only tank (within western allies) which had some good chances (in 1944) against the German Tigers and Panthers which was the Sherman Firefly! And I also agree that with mugwump, flying and fighting in a Typhoon in Iron Front would definitly be a blast!

Pity if the Brits arent there. It would be great to had a Quad and 25 pounder with limber combo.

Cheers,

I must say the screenshots looks very nice, is the game still as buggy as it was on launch?

I've been interested, now it's at the top of my "wish list".

Judging by this game's past, lack of multiplayer fanbase, etc. I'd say they are not in a position to take a chance on developing a more niche game at this point i.e. portraying Canadians as the main centerpiece. Going Eastern front in the first one was already a risk and one that didn't seem to pay off.

They need to tap into bigger markets with the highest appeal and a U.S. forces based game does that.

I'm just happy they are continuing development. This game had so much promise but fell so short and frankly there aren't any other options for this kind of game out there in the single player market. We need companies like this still working.

Besides, it's not like we've had a slew of actual realistic D-Day mil sims portraying Americans. Maybe the BIA series, but that was more call of duty then ARMA because of the linear maps.

I bet you'll see British/Canadian units in this game as well.
