The following logs were found on the body of the scout we sent out to Lab X8, on his PDA. Looks like he ignored his mission… the footage you’re seeing is from the helmet camera we made him take. His helmet was off, and he’d shot himself in the chest… and one more thing – blood was running from his ears. I don’t like it, colonel.
[MINOR SPOILERS – This will slightly spoil a mission in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat – you have been warned!]
LOGS (Chron. Oldest first)
I’m in position overlooking the apartment complex. Garry told me some mercs hired him to guide them into Pripyat, and talked about setting up a meeting here before trying to shut him up with a bullet.
I’ve already had two merc groups try and take me out… I’m not putting up with a third.
They could be here any time – Garry didn’t hear when the meeting would happen. I can’t get them all, but if I take out the leader, I should be able to steal his PDA… if I can drive off the rest long enough.
Too many mutants around here. If the mercs have to fight them off, they might change the meeting location. I can’t let that happen. This bloodsucker has crept up on his last stalker…
So this is going to be my room until they show up? Not much to look at. The rain has got in and stained the carpet. Dust is everywhere. Glad I have my mask. Shame the cabinets are such junk – I can’t set up a sniping platform. Gonna have to stand.
Where will they come from? Down here? Rain’s getting harder. Should I adjust my aim up to compensate? No, too close to the target. Stop worrying.
Rooftops are clear… no risk of merc snipers. I think they really believe their meeting is secret.
Pseudodogs keep prowling around, drawn to the blood of the other mutants. Can’t let them get in the way.
Man, it’s been hours already. I keep watching the crows instead of the target area. They’re like gods of the Zone… free… sometimes I think of shooting at them for sport, but… something stays my finger.
Dammit! Emission! Have to get to cover… but the target… what do I do?
Nothing for it. I can feel the charge pressing like needles into my ears. It’s gonna be a big one.
Nothing to do but hunker down in the spot with the most concrete, and hope for the best. Man, is my nose bleeding?
