Evidently my pedals have a problem where they are not centered properly. When I taxi or fly, my plane is moving sideways even though I am not moving the pedals. Are they just broken or is there a way to get the game to ignore it?

Thanks!

What do they do in other sims? Do they move sideways in them as well?

The last sim I played was JF-18 and they were disconnected because that sim could not handle all of the devices.

Before that it was SF2NA. I do not recall it affecting game play. I will load it back up and see what happens.

SF2NA does not appear to have the same issues as DCS.

I'd have to say it's game related then.

Hmmmm I have a FS, PT, TQ, 2 MFPs and PP working JF 18 just fine. Strange.

You can use the control indicator in DCS World to check rudder deflection -- the key command is [Right Control + Enter] (not the one on the keypad).
It might just be that there is some crosswind in the mission you are flying. Also make sure you are not accidently setting rudder trim.

Hope this helps.

That definitely helped. I did not know about that command.

It appears my rudder is off center to the right a bit. I guess SF2NA ignored it but it's definitely affecting me in DCS. Is there a CH utility to recenter the device or should I deadzone it in DCS?

Thanks!

Ok, for some reason I could not shape the axis of the CH Pedals. The button was grayed out. I selected a Warthog axis first and the button became active. Then I selected the Pedals and the button remained active. Set a 25% deadzone and the problem is resolved.

Thanks guys smile

Ghost,

I had all my axis working at one point in JF-18 but something changed and I could not get my throttle to stop inputting rudder commands.

Since the rudder is next to pointless anyway in that game, I just stopped using it all together and was able to enjoy the game without issue.

Thanks again!

Maybe you have to recalibrate your rudder pedals in the Control Manager. I sometimes noticed that the CM lost the calibration data (might have been because I changed USB ports or something).
