Eno's Firehouse Crew:

Eno
Wrecking Crew
Tomcat
X-Rray Specs
Wheel S7

The current Server IP will always be available on this page.

Current IP: 174.7.72.36 :10308

The Firehouse Server thread has proven to be enormously popular here at SimHQ and it's time once again to expand it into another thread. For those of you who haven't had the chance to view the other 2 threads, here is a quick summary of what life is like at the Firehouse:

What is the Firehouse?

The Firehouse Server is our attempt to provide a full time, 24/7 server featuring unique missions designed by Wrecking Crew, Dragon and Batu23 (among others) under the watchful eye of Servman. These missions include weapons training missions with JTAC and A2A refuelling, long term (24-48hr+) missions, a 4 hour bobsleigh ride down "the Highway" and everything in between. Some missions encourage adversarial encounters, others are heavily orientated towards a cooperative effort including KA-50s and A-10s. As other modules arrive, these aircraft will undoubtedly be included provided they fit within the mission scope.

Hardware:

The server is hosted primarily on a i7 950 (OC 4.1) / 12GB RAM on an Intel 520 Series 120GB SSD with a hardwired 250 down 15 up cable connection. The alternate is a i7 980X (OC 4.2) / 12GB Ram on an Intel 64GB X-25M with the same type of connection. The server machine does not host a "local" player.

Who is Invited?

The Firehouse remains open to enthusiasts of all skill levels- however we recommend that a player have at least completed the single player training scenarios as well as have a SimHQ TS3 account (http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3137414.html but must be logged in to enter). This allows us to better coordinate ourselves within the mission environment or just help each other out as we learn the finer points of the sim.

Problems? Disconnects? Crashes?

We are accumulating necessary information to submit formal bug reports to ED in an effort to help them help us help you make your sim experience as stable and enjoyable as possible. To do this, we need to submit log files, crash files, and sometimes track files. All of these can be found in your C:users/username/dcs/log folder. If you have logs you wish to submit, please contact me and I will give you instructions on how to submit them to our server related files.

What's the thread all about?

This thread and the two that preceded it are basically just a lounge for players to discuss events on the server, smack talk a little between RDR sympathizers and BLF loyalists... share screenshots (gotta love the eye candy!) and also share tips or pointers on hardware and software configurations. Most of all, if you're reading the thread and want to come join us give us a wave and tell us your story. Knowing who we're flying alongside (or against *cough* WC *cough*) is what makes this sim that much more exciting!

Eh Kome... I've got a training mission up right now- should be visible on the open server. I can't tell because it only shows up on LAN on my client machine.

Is that Eno's Firehouse I see listed in the Masterserver list? Did I miss that post among the 900 other posts?

Hi, I have tried connecting to your server a couple of times but never had much luck with the IP and LAN settings.
Tonight I tried again, when I saw it listed and it finally worked.
However, it seems Helios doesn't work. Is it blocked intentionally or by mistake? Or maybe it's an error on my side?

Oh you know what... actually I'll have to go into the settings and adjust for tacview as well. Thanks for the reminder!

What name did you log in under?

I logged in as dachs. Ok, so it was the server then. Thanks for looking in to it, it's kind of hard to go without Helios when used to it.
It's getting late here, so I'll try checkin in some other time.
Cheers

Took the server down while it was empty and changed that setting over so it should be tacview friendly now. I think that's the issue with helios as well.

It should be coming back up momentarily for some highway- I've got the bug!

Happy B-Day, Dachs!

---

I am going to update The Highway with a tanker and should be there in a bit...

I do need to know if in The Highway it is possible again to repair at Gelendzhik. I set the Warehouse Supply At Airbase to Blue so that should do it. But with no vehicles at Gelen I don't know if rearm and refuel will also work - they should not. Blue needs to capture Novorossiysk to do that.

What should be the speed and altitude of the KC-135 for damaged birds coming off The Highway?

Anyone know how long a KC-135 will fly, approximately - in hours?

--- edit --->
here's what I'm going with -
Altitude: 9000 feet
Speed: 250
Flight time = 9 Hours

Sounds pretty good- I know the tankers in the Dragon missions are at 15000 at 196knts indicated. I think you said your vehicles run the highway for 4 hours before they hit their endpoints? I suppose as long as it goes 4 hours, it should be good!

Also- is there a chance to refuel at Glen? Ideally a person would either choose to grab a thousand pounds or so... or just refuel at Glen (if they aren't comfortable refuelling or are having a bad day.)

To make it really exciting, fuel at 25% would be awesome!

OK - done.

All of the A-10Cs have reduced fuel - 4 are set at 25% and the others vary. elmo if you want more fuel you need to hit the tanker.

There are three Texaco stations "Trust your car to the man with the star!" Geez where'd that come from... Each is up for ~9 hours. See the briefing.

Awesome! Didn't see you on board tonight but hopefully tomorrow?

Saw thighs in there, snipor and actually Slowhand made a return visit! Glad to see him!

I was getting some pretty bad connectivity errors on the highway- ping timeouts... and nobody on the other machine. Not sure what that's about. I have the logs saved and will package.

c0ff said the gdrive zip format is fine... so I'm glad he knows about it. I'll just keep putting stuff in there!

I had a lot of fun on the server tonight! It more than made up for my miserable experience a few nights ago. It was Eno and I, and thighs joined for the latter half of my time on the server. I'd like to say thank you to WC for adding in blue KA-50s on back to school! I had a blast (pun intended) acting as a glorified sentry turret hovering over the city. I abused the laser a bit too much and ended up burning it out. Rearming and repairing was a little terrifying considering I had to sit there for a few minutes with the engines off just so they would fix the laser.

Thats an artillery round exploding right in front of me. A disturbing number landed that close, and several landed even closer.

Luckily I survived the barrage. Some of the ground units at the airport were not so lucky though. After that I did quite well until I let a group of T-55s get closer than I should have....

I took a cannon round right to the face. It set every component on fire and I fell like a brick since I was in a hover. I was able to crash land, but the fire was so bad I had to eject before I burned alive.

I know when I'm on the server you all see me have disconnects and game crashes, and when I do manage to get up into the air I get shot down a lot without really accomplishing anything useful, but here's proof that I don't completely fail at the game.

Still rockin the Saitek X36F & X35T biggrin
