Why the hurry, you know yourself, that after the newness wears thin say a week or so, you'll be one of the first to start adding MODs
And so what if he does? If he buys the sim, he can do whatever he wants with it that makes him happy. He's not changing the game that you are playing on your computer, so who cares what he does with it on his? If he buys a green motorcycle and decides a week later that he wants to paint it red, what's that to you? He bought it. And just because he wants something new, does that somehow mean he has no right to make changes to it when he gets it? A week, a month, a year or a decade later doesn't matter. It's his right. Maybe modding the game is the very thing he finds most enjoyable about it. Who are you to suggest that his way of enjoying the sim is any less valid that yours?
And before you respond with "I don't want to hear his complaints that the sim isn't working when the mods mess it all up", try to think for a second and remember that with JSGME he can add and remove mods without changing any game files at all. So if he has a problem, he clicks a button to remove his mod(s) and he knows immediately if the mods are part of the problem or not. It's that simple.
And for what it's worth, some of the people who have made various mods for OFF:BH&H were asked to assist the Devs in doing work for WOFF. Apparently the Devs see some value in their contributions, even if you cannot.
I don't care what he does with it, and we all want it as soon as possible and it shall be released as soon as possible. Why . . Because it's not being given away for free. You walked in midstream after he posted yesterday that he feels MOD's are so important to using a computer. He never met someone who didn't use mods
It's a simulation, a way above average simulation, but just a simulation. What is there a merit badge being earned by some ?

There's no such thing as Bad Weather, only unsuitable clothing
I feel mods in the long run for many games are important yes. They expand the game and also improve it's longevity.
Actually OFFP3 doesn't really need them, but the ones that have come out for me and others improved on whats already a fine sim. Her Props mods for instance really add to the sim. All games can be imporved and sometimes it takes a modder to improve them.
Maybe there are people who don't use mods, but I haven't met anyone who is anti mods or something against them when to me and many others it really has improved many many games or chnaged a game enough to suit someone else, like the many space game mods that change the game to a Star trek universe.
Also no usually it takes abit longer than a week or so for me to add mods. Some games I never added any. Some aren't even moddable.
I just don't understand the anti mod stance or the idea that they don't or shall we say can't improve upon a game.
Maybe I exagerated saying I haven't come across someone who doesn't use mods, but I haven't come across someone who has some kind of anti mod stance.
Finally I know it's just a sim. Not life or death. Infact how often do I even post here..rarely..why..because the game\sim is just a small part of my gaming hobby. I just really have the urge to fly WOFF. Maybe in a few weeks that urge will wear off for abit.
Anyway if you can't tell my OP was tongue in cheek then you've had a humour bypass.
Well, it was quite obvious - humour or not (vee Dsherrmans hav no Humour but malicious Glee!). Now, OFF already IS a mod - so much for really great mods.
As for your pushing attempts: when you consider, that the devs are working on WOFF every spare minute they can possibly invest, and their high standards of quality, which we all really appreciate, then you KNOW nothing will antedate the release date, but the fact that WOFF is ready.
We could of course threaten to sit down and stop breathing until WOFF comes out (take that, devs!). But I guess we wouldn't get anywhere further but blue in the face. Mmuahahahahahahaaaaaa!!!
(I hope evvryone outside Dsherrmany vill undersztand der Humour?)

Mods, good subject for discussion. In single player games mods are generally accepted and most mods are a good thing and do add more appeal and extended lifespan to a game, Mods in a multiplayer environment on the other hand are always open to debate. A mod that gives you an unfair advantage over someone who doesn’t use it is a cheat. however if that Mod is accepted by the majority then its not a cheat so from that sense mods can actually be bad for a game, due to potential divided opinions (Pro Mod, Anti Mod)
OFF and mods I’m not really a big Modder of my games I use OFFbase I’ve used or tried some of the others, We all have a right to mod our games regardless of opinion, if WOFF comes out and it’s a MMO and it clearly states we don’t have the right to mod it then, that should put a nail in the butt of mods but it won’t. Has for pushing for a earlier release well, its like water off a ducks back to me, no point getting upset about it, I can’t control what people say and whatever I do say in response hasn’t stop the initial statement going unnoticed its just highlighted it more maybe so no win situation. Life is too short to dwell on the release of one game, enjoy what we have until it comes out. Badgering or pressuring doesn’t help anybody
Olhams little smiley face not gone blue yet but its looking alittle pale..... lol
Excuse my grammar please. I struggle writing English
Listen I wasn't trying to push them..the post was said in good humour, I don't want them to release it until it's good and ready. I just felt like saying and and a quick show of my enthusiasm. I'm not trying to pressur eor badger either. I was messing as I said. It obviously has been taken the wrong way.
Anyway I can wait for as long as it takes...but release it already
