I'm waiting to know if the doorgunner can "be" without the need to buy the module, Rise of Flight style...
Not the co-pilot of course... but the gunner maybe?

I think all helicopters need an AFM to work properly in DCS. Or I think I read something like that.

The API for the AFM has been released for a while now. All 3rd party developers have the option of plugging their own FM into this API.

BTW you have nothing to worry about with the fidelity or quality of the Hueys FM.

I'll pre-order this - transport Helo is paradise.

Come to think of it, I'm basically interested in East, Civil, (and maybe U.K.) aircraft. Not so keen on the others.

[speculation]

Transport helo addition to DCS means that they must add something to transport
Huey too small to lift a tank
Huey designed to move squads of troops

therefore

Infantry ops must be coming to DCS.....(not just cardboard cutouts)

[/speculation]

If it's done FSX style with just on screen text "you have reached your destination" you will hear my "HARUMPH" from space!

^^^ I agree coolts - The Russian transport flies around with an empty cabin. A couple years ago I suggested that we need other loadouts for this helicopter but have not seen anything that will put people in it. (I need a Russian general and a pretty young lady - may need to enter a ticket for the lovely couple and some more troop options.)

Me too! The H was deployed in '67 so if they don't put a lot of gps junk in the pit you would be flying a true nam ship. If they pull off the UH1H there shouldn't be much problem implementing the Bell 204 including UH1B guns and also the erly AH1 which I understand shares a LOT with the UH1.

I'm looking forward to the new platform and the way mission designers will be incorporating it.

Rescue missions? Troop insertion? Black ops?

Sad waste... wish they would poll thier consumers to see what they would like. Even if its Blackshark/A10 quality... it's not going ot be worth $40 in my mind by a long shot. I'll be happy with great repro's for Microsoft Flight Sim or XPlane to fly a Huey, especially since theres nothing currenly IN DCS to fly along with! How about an Apache, Kiowa (would have been an awesome addition), Supercobra etc. to ground and pound along with A10's or AGAINST KA50's BEFORE having a Huey to do escort missions with?? Not going to be very realistic feeling flying next to a KA50 in a close support mission, or specops insertian, or rescue... whatever. Thanks for adding in a USA/Nato heli finanly, but it would have even more sense to add say a Hind before this even, there you have a troop xport option too with still a dedicated attack/support chopper to coop with KA50's. Don't get my wrong it'll be a cool addition, its just way down on the list as far as my opinion as to what COULD have been developed to really enhance what they have going now.

Ok I see it's 3rd party addon... doesn't change my mind though most... still seems like a waste of time for whoever developed it for what we have to work with right now in DCS.

and i meant Little Bird as being an awesome addition not kiowa... although that would be more usefull then a huey

I too would have much preferred the Hind, but WTF, of course I'm going to buy a DCS-quality Huey. Or would you rather let me try my hands on the real thing, huh biggrin

Animated pilot/copilot/gunner flipping switches and swiveling the gun? That would be awesome!

Uh...WHAT 70s hippie music? All the hippie stuff was in the 60s. The 70s were all wannabe. Summer of love was 67, by 70 it was commercialized!

Anyway, so we now know the AB212 in the lua was spurious, it should've read AB205 or 206 or just plain UH-1H.
