I was just on the Firehouse snooping around and got a Server Ping Timeout. frown

After a few refreshes of the server list I saw the ping jumping around from it's usual 180's to 220 to 248. FYI. The mission has been solid on the server for 48+ hours.

Heading back in to fly a bit before work starts - I want to get an assessment of the mission progress.


I am looking forward to the point in this mission - iShot The Shilka - where the two sides fight against each other in the final stage where one side has to hold onto the other's airbase with, like, a truck and two Shilkas. If we had 4-6 we could maybe knock it out in 3-4 hours - even with more pilots it could take as long with some H2H action expected. Saturday at 1400 MDT(GMT -6)?

--- edit ---> the ping seems to have settled back down now at 149 - that is typical for me - not bad.

I wouldn't mind a bigger weekend fly in- iShot... Saturday... fly in... A2A... A2G... nobody is safe! Who is offense? Who is defense? Which strategy prevails?

Not going to lie, the mission has some potential for a great battle!

Molasses, Wheel and I managed a Red slime win at Min-Vody tonight. I came in for the clean up - got to mess around with the SADL functions with Molasses while Wheel dug around in the weeds to find some pesky targets.

If Blue doesn't come in for a quick win the Red has it.

I don't mind calling an audible... if guys are in a "more wrassle / less hassle" mode then I wouldn't mind back to school- Or if guys are looking for a challenge and to pair up and go at the new "Op Bactria" concept... that would be okay too. I'm intrigued at how it's set up and how we can arrange gameplay within our group. Going to need to practice CDU commands, mind you!

And, with me being here, I can always go to the server to F10 if needed (to authorize RTB) without having taken a close look at that program that was recommended earlier. Just haven't learned about it yet is all... unless you think you can manage it crew?

Perhaps we can talk about that a bit more later.

I'm taking another late crack at it. I had to go for a bit- crew and wheel are gone though. I'm going to do what I can knowing one pesky reds are without air power.

Arrg - the CO gave me a new tasking order that I could not ignore, and I never got back to the battle. Man, we were almost there, too. I think I saw where Mozdok got destroyed, leaving just a few Blue assets at Beslan.

Eh mol- welcome to the group! When I got in last night there were a dozen vehicles parked at Beslan that I took a chunk out of- but not until I missed with 4 cans of 97s at hof 1200. Oh- I hit a bunch of choppers landed there a couple hundred feet away but despite putting an epic drop amongst two rows of armor- a perfect sandwich... Not a ingle armor kill. Rrrrrr. I'm tempted to post that track actually.

Did a couple of cannonball runs as well which once again demonstrated the thick derrière of the t55s. Two killed with 800 rounds out. Too much deflection, too low an angle? Too greedy? I don't know- I go from highway being able to shoot a truck ouy from under crews wing tip to not being able to kill a single vehicle in a column while at a standstill. Sigh!

Anyway checked in this morning and a guy was in there flying around. I noticed external views are off ,on that one but I may request to tun them on from habu. Any feedback on that? I know we like eye candy and screenshots- but I'd like your thoughts on the realism element of this mission.

Prime shareholder with Heineken actually. Good turnout tonight for op Bactria. Turns out ext views are on- must have been because I was spectating. Whoops already pmed him about it. Ah well.

Mission is really great with lots of intense voice files that really add to the immersion. 4-5 in there now... Have fun!
