Okay boys. Server is up but still not showing up. If anyone can figure out why I'd love to know.

Ugh, I was very disappointed with face track. I sell electrical stuff for a living so i just grabbed parts we had here and made my own 3 point IR clip.

Eh Crew... thought I saw you in mission but you are in TS on hold...

Okay boys... big announcement! CDU / Flight plan entry training TOMORROW night- Rampant Bear mission. Crew has some coordinates that he can use to get us dialed in and in the meantime those who aren't interested in learning can go and blow other things up on the opposite end of the map.

I'll let crew describe which side he wants to work on and what targets he'll include during the training session. If all his targets are on the east side, then the more knowledgeable guys can head over to the west and bring the good news with them!

On another note as I mentioned I completely reconfigured my setup and now have a hardline connection on both machines. My sincere apologies to Airdog and wheel... and anyone else who joined when I first got things going- I had a couple of ISP drop outs happen and some very sketchy internet service for about 45 minutes... seems to have stabilized- not sure what that was about.

I wasn't having the trouble today that I was having last night- I'm running 512 across the board with the server as well as the main game rig. I might start to slide that forward a bit- especially on the server rig... See where I end up- but if guys are experiencing glitching throughout their experience I encourage you to pass it on to me so that I can make adjustments.

I was saddled up to ARCO in Dragon's training mission for about 25 minutes trying to get connected- didn't connect once. Of course it's on a pretty tight orbit so next time I'll give that one a miss. TEXACO seemed to be flying a more "rookie" pattern so I think next time I'm going to head right there.

I'm about to give the GF a crash course in flying- see if maybe I can get her interested in flying... might have to put her on the server comp on occasion if she enjoys it. Got a mic and headset for it but no track IR. The controls would be an X52... but no pedals. The idea would be just to do casual flights and some mucking around together- maybe go in mission and let her ride shotgun. Who knows- she may pick it up and make me look like a donkey with wings. Then again, an over-ripe tomato could probably do that judging by my performance on the tanker earlier. Ugh.

Gents... What I WANTED from DCS was a version of the sim that flew as close to 1.1.1.1 as possible- that's when I got in the game and that's what I know. Currently, though there are a few nagging issues that we can't tell are "CHANGES" or "GLITCHES," they have produced something that is running- on the A-10C circuit anyway- quite well.

I have probably heard "I love the water!" about 2 dozen times in the past 2 nights... it really is VERY rich... beautiful. Nice work!

I will also mention that it has been ROCK solid throughout my activities on the server computer. I mean- that other stuff aside (my own problem solving going on on this end)... now that I seem to have found some settings that work... no complaints about that!

Training missions will be up for awhile- letting guys get their shiznit figured out.

Einstein I ran yours earlier hoping we might draw some from the P51 crowd but I STILL can't get the server to show up on the list. I read somewhere about a 38 server maximum... but that thread was from 2010.

PLEASE- if you figure this one out POST PRONTO!

CDU Coordinate Entry Practice
Using, 104th_Moa's Rampant Bear mission

I cut my Warthog teeth in Operation Rampant Bear. After soo many times in Cold Start and thinking where I wanted to go ... I ended up writing down all of the important map coordinates in the mission. Then, once my CDU was aligned, I would spend a few extra minutes entering in 3 or 5 or soo of the coordinates that I figured I'd need for the particular flight. I always fly out of Vaziani Cold Start 1.

Here is my list. In no particular order smile The "" are the Waypoint Names I enter for these points.

*Tbilisi tank/enemy objective 41 48 39N 044 47 42E A1499 "TBIL.OBJ" ; later in the mission if Red is winning
*Tbilisi 'River T' 41 50 14N 044 43 15E A1578 "RIV.T" ; This is a GOOD GUY location NOT Bad guys, used most, kill bad guys across the river

*1/2 Way Bridge 41 53 19N 044 34 12E A2200 "HLF.BRG" ; a good pivot point

Igoetti Crossroads 41 59 12N 044 25 25E A2199 "IGO.XRDS"
Igoetti BUK 42 01 27N 044 18 50EA2367 "IGO.BUK"
Igoetti Bridge 41 59 35N 044 24 46E A2140 "IGO.BRG"

*Gori Bridge 41 58 46N 044 06 05E A1845 "GORI.BRG" ; you know where this is tomcat in your dreams cat
Gori North Bridge 42 00 58N 044 07 38E A1980 "GORI.NBRG"
Gori FARP 41 59 39N 044 06 09E A1910 "GORI.HELI"

Tskhinvali truck/bullseye 42 14 00N 043 58 09E A2806 "TSK.TRK"
Java House 42 23 51N 043 55 21E A2804 "JAVA.HSE"

*Roki Tunnel 42 36 32N 044 11 03E A7337 ; GBU-31s to destroy it

* most used

Thank you 104th_Moa for Rampant Bear and many others, such as Pirates Of The Crimean, Fulda Gap, and Operation Sudden Hammer!

I think you'd have to post in the MP Section of DCSW's boards on EDs site w/ Logs.

Also .6192 is out.

make sure JTACs have waypoints.

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=94761

Quote:
Ok there is a known bug here that is fixed in the testers build. I have already asked for the fix to be pushed forwards into an autoupdate.

The problem lies with the fact that as the JTAC has no waypoints he has in effect reached his last waypoint and all tasks are stopped. I have added a waypoint to each of your JTACs and set a HOLD action at the initial waypoint so they don't in fact move. Therefore he hasn't reached his last WP and the tasks aren't stopped.

Good grab there skate- I'm not sure we're going to go in and fix that in ALL missions but I bet we could probably get that sorted out for the ones we're going to use the most. Might just wait for the fix but I think that's easy enough to do.

On a server note- Server has been updated to the latest update (8am pst) and will be posted soon. I'm going to go over and figure out this server listing issue as well... no sense running a server 24 hours a day if nobody can see it's up.

it is definitely worth it... I changed my camera to the PSEye as well. My headtracking is smooth as butter now.

Is there a group planning on doing some training tonight?

I want to get this tanker thing licked so I know I'm going to be in there. Crew- how would you feel about running your training session tonight followed by a JTAC / AWACS heavy mission? So we can apply the lessons.

Might want to practice the bulls calls as well- that's a bit easier but it is a moderately advanced function.

not that i dont know how to do it.. I just refuse to take apart a brand new camera for the sake of head tracking....

on that note, My XboxLive Vision Cam (which operates at 75hz in lower resolutions), Does pick up IR already... I can point my various Remotes at it and press a button and see the LEDs Flashing white. (I'll record a demo of that if i have to.).

So Maybe I just need to build something w/ IR Leds on them and dump face API for the other one. (which I done forgot the name off).
Now to see if I have enough USB Ports to plug the Webcam back in.

Oh... I was being a bit sarcastic there skate- Well... I'll have to take a look at it I guess. Thought you were saying lower detail water settings turn off the nice water so it seemed like something I could joke about.

Maybe it's more complicated. Ah well- it's early!
