Howdy All,
Found a copy of TvsT at the bottom of a drawer. Tempted to re-install but seem to remember hours of frustration when it first came out. Is it worth it?
I have the impression this game is as dead as can be. Are they any must-have mods for sp gameplay? And where would they be?

Soz for the dumb questions, can't find mucho info on it so far.

Cheers,
Slug

I still have it installed and still play it once in a while... it all depends on what you want... if you want a sim or anything more then just blowing enemy tanks up then your pretty much out of luck,,, but i enjoy booting it up, taking my tank for a spin, and blowing #%&*$# up at range that action games don't do.... actually, posted a series of screens from a nice mission a few weeks ago.. its fun.

MP is dead, SP is really just you moving to a location and killing targets, you have AI but there idiots.

Theres a very few mods for it but nothing that worth it, i play stock... but try www.tanksim.com or tanksims.com, at work going by memory.

Magnum pretty much hit the nail on the head there, although I thought that there were some guys working on MP.

The only real way to see the potential that this game has to offer is to head over to HERE and check out the SP mod by Zeewolf. You have to pay a fee for his main mod but he does have some free stuff that you can try out.

Be warned, his mods require a very good PC spec to run well.At least that was my experience.

MP for TvsT is dead.Murkz announced it about a month ago that he and his team were abandoning after completing MMP7( MP mod).Nobody was playing the game in MP anymore. In SP ZeeWolf is making mods and missions but it's expensive( you have to pay membership every year)and progress is very, very slow which is why I decided to call it quits.

The game is not worth paying for it in my opinion, it's 5 years old, the stock missions are heavily scripted, AI is terrible and except for ZeeWolf nobody is modding it.Plus the m\Ission Editor is extremely complex thus you can't make your own stuff. If you want a good WWII tank sim with SP only then only Steel Fury can offer you what you are looking for.

Thx All for the answers.
Will give it a go as out-of-the-box for a little while and see for myself. Bit of a pity.

Cheers,
Slug

I play WOT tanks now ,I still have my copy of TvT but I have a lot of "Fun" playing big battles in WOT.. ok its not a SIM agreed but its getting alot closer each release, now with the new physics engine it a whole better. Its the best balance I have found for Tread Heading, also its free and we play full team battles with coms and well I love it for entertainment lol...

Just dug out this old one and have been reading about the MMP7 MP mod a few days ago (also mentioned above) but unfortunately I have not been able to find it. Anyone here have it or know where to find it?

To bad this sim was abandoned in such poor state by it's dev's! Would like to give it another go with a few friends in MP...

You know, it's technically pretty good aside from a few issues. It just lacks content...

If you disregard the limited number of scripted missions, the terrible AI, the glitches, the impossible to use mission editor and lack of any technical support since Lighthouse Interactive, the distributor, went bankrupt 4 years ago and G5 the company that created the game even removed it from their website ...The graphics are nice and the maps are great though....

I have a copy of MMP7 which Murkz kindly allowed me to have last year. I haven't even installed it since the game is essentially dead and nobody except those using Zeewolf's single player stuff which is not free though....If Murkz has no objection I could upload it to my file share account and post the link.

I can see there was/is big potential but as frinik22 points out it's not finished and to bad dev's and publisher stopped working on it since it could become a great WWII tank sim.

I may not have good news for you. While I saw that mod on one of my back up HDs last week I since cleaned and deleted old stuff. I am still looking for it but so far unable to locate it. Stand by!

I am afraid I don't have MMP7 anymore.I lost it when one of my HD went corrupt and I thought I had a back-up copy of it on one of my hard disks. However it seems I may have culled it in the past 2 weeks.

However I found a webpage where MMP5 and 6 ( the earlier versions ) are posted for download.Would you be interested in having the link?

Sorry to hear frinik but such is life... maybe someone else will find MMP7 and make it available somewhere.

I did find earlier versions as well. Anyway thanks for your efforts, appreciated!
