If Razbam are doing it too, than Iris better start working harder on it NOW popcorn

So if there's 2 compagny doing it, maybe we should expect to have 1 before 3 years bananadance

I think RAZBAM is using Tim Taylor's Models too. (Metal 2 Mesh/T.T., Is the source of the FSX IRIS F-15E), T.T. Left the IRIS Team towards the End of August.

Hey Guys,

Sorry, I am not with IRIS anymore, but I will be around with other companies such as Razbam working with them on some future titles.

-Tim

Which means They are both using the same models or when Tim Left the IRIS Team, he took his F-15E IP Elsewhere, and the IRIS Team will have to start from scratch. Which might also explain why the IRIS Team Pulled their Images off their facebook and why they marked the Proof of Concept Videos as Private.

Spanky Posted this, which makes it seem like he's also using the M2M Models, or he's Using the Existing DCSW External Model:

First and foremost, the BD-5.... Work continues on systems and making some modelling changes here and there.. smile She's a fantastic little aircraft and great for aerobatics... Currently it's all about the tweaking! lol.

The F-22 is very early days, and we're hard at work on the cockpit and the exterior touches...we're anticipating a few months before we start development on the systems etc. The team is very enthusiastic about what we might be able to bring to the platform.

The F-15E is still very firmly on track. We're very proud to be developing it with Eagle Dynamics after coming to a joint agreement with the studio a couple of months back which allows us to make use of the existing F-15E external model. This reduces the development time and allows us to focus on cockpit and systems development and at the same time continues our support of the studio and their faith in us.

The Talon and Tomcat are both still in R&D stages, and we're investigating three turboprop trainers as possible aircraft for inclusion down the track.

Here is some quick renders of the F-15E in DCS.

You will notice the exterior is the DCS F-15E, this was a decision by the studio to use DCS World's model since it was a part of the sim already. Why not, it is a beautiful model and would work wonderfully with multiplayer.

Now as for the Cockpit as you can see we already have a very detailed and accurate cockpit. This cockpit is just in the initial stages as we will redo the modeling, adding more detail and tessellation to get a smoother and more fluid version for the DCS engine. We will re-map, re-texture, and of course we have one of the best coders that can create the controllers and modules that will allow high fidelity systems to this aircraft.

We will also follow the artistic impression from the C version in FC3 so that they can look like actual sister aircraft and immersion will be better then ever. Razbam and Metal2Mesh2 are working together to create this F-15E.

So without further ado, I present to you,

The RAZBAM F-15E

Mirage 2000 eh? Finaly. I think I saw in their facebook page that Metal2Mesh is making a Mirage 2000 model, and I figured they would be using it in DCS sooner or later.

This F-15E was not in Razbam's list of Projects previously submitted to ED. Tim left IRIS and brought to Razbam his cockpit model and everything else he was working on and advised IRIS they could not use any of his work while with IRIS. Now Razbam seems to have the F-15E added to the approved list.

This on the surface seems rather curious. Now we have 2 Companies approved to do the same aircraft. We need more different aircraft and I am sure the community would like to see a clickable SU-27 or SU-33 or some other Russian or Euro., aircraft. Duplication for a small fighter sim. group does not make any sense. FSX or X-Plane is a much broader market and can take some duplication, fighter sims. can't. IMHO.

Sure it makes sense. They work with what they have access to info on and generally, whatever they like.

Personally I hope IRIS just throws their F-15E on the back burner and gets on with their other stuff. After RAZ's comes out, they'll know what was done right and wrong there and hopefully improve upon it. Both done in parallel leaves the possibility open that "Oh, IRIS has a great AG radar model worked out, the avionics are top notch...but the FM kinda blows and the cockpit is a little outdated" while "RAZ's cockpit rocks and the FM is dead on...but the AG radar is a little wonky and there are some weird glitches in the avionics"...so you have 2 that both fall short in non-overlapping areas.

Anyone remember DI's old Tornado sim? Awesome avionics/radar/TIALD and battleplanner implementation...but the FM was no better than F-19's. People loved it for what it did right in spite of what it did wrong, but I think a Tornado 2 could've nailed it. With so many planes on their plates, I don't think RAZ or IRIS plan on making "F-15E 2.0" to solve anything they might miss in the first release, so IMO it would behoove IRIS to sit on it for now. Then in a couple of years they can say "ah, RAZ got caught in the pitfall of blah blah blah, we can plan ahead to avoid this..."

Ahh sorry, I thought he meant the pic with the two seater was answer to hannibal's original question!

Anyway, have anything been mentioned about human pilot and WSO in MP? I guess we are many that wondering and it would be about time someone did it again - been a while since LB2 smile

And IIRC earlier versions of LOMAC had experimental code for it as well...

Nothing has been mentioned about that.

It is a desire for ED, AFAIK, but there's no stated time/project for which they plan to make it happen.

Hey I want to show you guys a few things, when this model was being done, a friend of mine and myself did a lot of research to find out about the elusive F-15E cockpit. I honestly couldn't do with out him, but we managed to find information on the FLCS, Rudder pedal assembly, and even the ballistic gas Lines used for the ejection sequence of the seat and canopy. This pic shows some of the detail we put in this mesh and with the DCS engine and what ED/TFC has to offer us in the ability to create, we hope we can make a very real and beautiful weapons delivery platform.
