I have happily been playing Dark Blue World after finally getting it to work. It took me 12 installs and 6 downloads before I finally got it to work. I probably spent a year of my life on it...anyway.

It has stopped working just out of the blue. I changed nothing but it just sits there and doesn't tell me what is wrong and then finally goes back to the Setup Menu. So I decided to play my 4.11 version and the same thing happens which is nothing. Went back to my Steam version with is 4.09 and that works but of course I have to use Steam. I hate absolutely hate Steam.

Any idea where to start to look for what might be wrong with my DBW and 2.11?

Oh and it happened right after I had a mandatory MS Windows 7 update.

Dunno Hairog.
I just stopped by to see if anyone else was having problems with 1946' locking up.
I have just started playing on a newly built computer, and have always, in the past, played 'off line', no connection with my game box.
Now I am connected with the new one, but still playing a campaign, not 'on line' gaming.
And it seems to freeze now, lock up...for no reason. Can't find a common denominator. Think it has something to do with being online....I unplug the cable...and have no lockups.

Probably just me, my setup, don't know.

But I thought I'd let you know...I read your post, don't know the answer.

'Chirp'...chirp... smile

I would try renaming the extension of the game's .ini file so when you try to start the game, it'll write a new .ini file. For example, simply add ORIGINAL to the extension like so: config.iniORIGINAL. That way you have a backup of your current .ini file (located in the game's directory).
