It seems it is taking forever and I don't see any change. And then I walk away and the the computer now automatically shuts itself down.
Any ideas?

Yikes, that would be annoying! Did you install from the disk, or did you use the latest torrent build? I had to re-install a few days ago, but it didn't take long to update.

You really should be downloading the latest free to play build and then updating it.

It'll take less time than using their downloader to update the CD version.

You don't lose anything by using the FTP (Free To Play not the other protocol) download, it's the same thing from start of the build to finish.

Once you finish updating your dvd version it will be the same as the free version (since they all update to the same version). You really should have just downloaded the updated installer from their site instead of trying to download years of consecutive patches.

the torrent on the rof website was the quickest for me.

OK, I uninstalled what I had and am downloading from the site using the torrent2exe.
I wonder if it will extract or if I will have to do something more.

ok, now this just sits there doing nothing much.

Looks like it has downloaded..."Downloaded 4.48 GB of 4.48GB". Just need to find the executable and install from there, then one smaller update and you should hopefully be done!

How does one do that? All I can find is a '.rar' file.
