I logged in sometime around 8-9pm pacific near the tent camp and the guys were all busy little beavers making repairs to a huey that spawns on Skalisty Island.

I run down the coast towards Solnichniy and hear the guys need scrap metal to finish up the last repairs to the huey. So I recon Solnichniy and only come up with some jerry cans. The guys had left the hatchback on Krutoy Cap, so I proceed south to pick it up with the intention of driving it back to camp if they get the huey flying.

I get to the hatchback and use the jerry cans I found in Solnichniy and fill up the hatchback. It was just me and Snapdad (I believe,correct me if wrong) left ingame late in the evening. Others were listening in on Teamspeak. Still needed that elusive piece of scrap metal to finish the last repairs to the huey.

We drove the hatchback back up north to factory section of Solnichniy to recon for 1 piece of scrap metal. No luck. I did pick up a windscreen. We then drove to the Factory near Polana but came up empty there as well. That 1 piece of scrap metal was causing a long delay in getting airborne. We decided to server hop to search other factories. I came up empty but Snap found just what we needed. Jeff logged in briefly and was in/around Polana but he said he would be logging out for the night and for us not to bother picking him up since we were right next door to him.

We drive back down to Krutoy Cap and server hop to ride the boat across to Skalisty. We get across and hop back to Perfect. But wouldn't you know it, we forget the scrap metal that had been placed in the hatchback. I hop servers to ride the boat back while Snap fueled and made windscreen repair to the huey. I make it across, have to hop to Perfect and grab the scrap metal out of the hatchback. Hop back to the boat; sail to the island; hop back to Perfect and finally we finish repairs to the Huey. YaaaaaH!

Hitch spawns in near the huey and the 3 of us jump in our brand new huey and head up the coast. I forget the town, but we land on the pier section where there is a fuel tank nearby. We all get out and start filling up the huey. It's now well into early Sunday morning when we finally get the huey topped off with fuel and refill the jerry cans in the chopper.

We proceed north to check out coordinates Jeff gave me for a possible hiding place to put the huey. We check it out and then proceed to just enjoy flying around in our new ride. We 'accidently' let loose on the door guns (which freak and annoy Snap, hehe) We head roughly NE towards Guba to 'kind of' look for vehicles. We wander around the map and the guys decide to fly to NW airfield. We get there and we're hit with the graphical glitches and get out of there asap.

Snake had logged in by now near the tent camp and asked for a pickup, so we head there. Getting around in the huey is really quick. Snap was a great pilot. We land above the carpark in the meadow because we get the message of server restart in 5 mins.. So we land, take turns saving the huey (just to be safe) and log out.

I'm the first one back in after the reset. Holy s#!T! The huey is gone! So Snake never gets his ride and we lose the huey that took us so long to get up and flying. We assume it's back on Skalisty Island. We hope it was still in it's repaired state. We're all bummed and we log for the night.

Hopefully another team makes a run for the island and finds our huey again!

Nice AAR Hunterbear and I appreciate the offer for a ride early this morning even though it didn't work out. I read in the DayZ Wiki that saving a vehicle only saves the gear inside them. Otherwise, they should be where you left them when you exit the vehicle prior to a server restart. When they are not, it is because of a database issue.

That was fun getting that thing going. The reason I was getting freaked out when you fired the guns is because we had NVG's on and you can't SEE anything when they're firing. The muzzle flash really screws up forward vision from the drivers seat! And, it's a little disconcerting when it happens unannounced.

Wow, 3 choppers in 2 days. Strong werk!

Which is not surprising due to the massive hive related error last night on all the servers. When Snap and I were running back and forth between servers last night we got teleported due to a massive desync error and I would not be surprised if the helo is still sitting on Skalisty in a fully repaired state or partially repaired.

It's back on the island on Perfect, but I got hacked today on Perfect, so I won't be going back there any time soon.

we have pretty much everything ready to go for that other heli we found today on the non perfect server. just need 1 windscreen and a boat. be back in 20 minutes after some grub
