Since a few patches ago I find that when I start a mission with my plane parked on the ground, the engine is already running. I would rather be able to do my own start-up procedure. How do I set the mission to start me with a cold, dark cockpit?

If you're using the FMB there is an option to select 'Spawn Park' or something like that. However, this can put you inside a hangar. To spawn park in the open I have had to place static objects on the spawn points inside hangars.

Anybody else have a better way for spawning a/c with engine off in the open?

Just to clarify things, I'm talking about a mission I downloaded that allows one to do a cold engine start, warm-up, takeoff and touch and goes at a number of South Coast RAF bases. When I started using the mission several patches ago, I got to start on the runway with the engine off. Since the last couple of patches, when I start the mission the engine is already running. Do I need to open it up in the FMB and change some things?

I get the same issue with the quick missions. This was introduced in one of the beta patches prior to the current one. Believe it is a screw-up, but I expected to see it fixed by this time.
