How do you force a game to play in a window mode?

some games dont allow it, others do.

try ALT Enter.

or

Right click desktop icon;
Click "Properties";
In the target line, go to the end and hit the space bar and put "-w" without the quotations.

No more full-screen.
To go back to full-screen, change the "w" to "f".
