Hello, all.
As the subject header says, I've just purchased BoBII. I played the original BoB (and MiG Alley) when it first came out and I loved it warts and all.
After installing BoBII, I took it for a spin and had some questions:
1) The default graphics look somewhat "quaint". As in...they look like Rowan's Operation Overlord or the original EAW running in software emulation mode. It definitely does not look as good as the original BoB did back on my old (dead) desk-top so I brilliantly surmised that something was amiss. Don't get me wrong, I love the way the original EAW looked in software emulation mode (I have fond memories of playing it on my first laptop), heck, I like how the original Red Baron looked with its shaded polygons but this can't be how the sim was meant to look.
2) I can't seem to turn on radio chatter. I keep it turning it to MEDIUM but when I go to instant action, I don't hear any voices and when I check sound afterwards, I see that radio chatter has been turned back off. Am I missing something?
I'm running a i7-3770 CPU, with 8 GB, AMD Radeon HD 7570 and Windows 7. All my other sims which I have installed (Thirdwire series, Rise of Flight, Aces of High) all look "normal".
Thanks in advance!

Well, managed to resolve the whole sound issue by downloading the 2.10 patch.
Still have jaggies up the wazoo, though.

Actually, the latest update is 2.11. I assume you mean that?
2.12 is very close now too.
You should allow application control for Anisotropic filtering and set that in-game. Set Anti-Aliasing on the desktop (there is no in-game control for that).
You shouldn't be getting jaggies once it's working properly.

Jaggies are gone!
However...my cockpit is now earily transparent!
I suppose I'll have to play around a bit to work out all the kinks!

Yep - that was indeed the cause.
Everything is working fine (graphically at least) now!

If you really get into BOBII you will need to come the A2A BOBII forums and read the "sticky" threads for all the setup and game play hits and recommendations.
The forums offer the best support from experienced players and BOBII's BDG member developers.

I reinstalled and half the time I enter a dogfight, CTD galore. Aside from that throw in similar issues as above and I sort of gave up. But I have awesome memories of winning my first ever campaign as the Luftwaffe three four years ago, what a great strategic simulation.

Are you trying to run the latest patch, and with an older machine? Have you tried the adjustments recommended in the release notes? Have you posted at A2A to see if we can solve it for you?
