http://www.gametrailers.com/side-mission...medium=facebookStar Trek: Infinite Space has been cancelled. The free-to-play, browser-based MMO has been abandoned by Gameforge, the publisher announced this morning. From the company's statement, as translated by GamesIndustry International: "Since autumn 2011 we made many efforts to find a publishing and marketing partner for Star Trek: Infinite Space. Unfortunately, our efforts were not successful. So we have decided with a heavy heart to finally abandon the project Star Trek: Infinite Space."

Uh...I didn't know such a thing was even being made.
How about a REAL game instead of these fake MP-only games, hmm? I guess the only one is the one scheduled to come out with the next film next year, but I'm not sure what that will be. People want ST games to largely be about the ships. That looked like it might be more coop one-plays-Kirk, one-plays-Spock, and I'm not sanguine about its prospects.

Klingon Academy is the best tactical capital space ship game I've ever played.

I think this was a 2-D space game. That was ok in 1979, but not worth it now. Does anyone play that BSG browser game? With STO out there, why would they work on this? I never got to play Bridge Commander, but I'd love to. They need to come out with more of those games. ST Legacy is a great game for ship battles, I'd take another of those as well.

The SF Command series was great, although SFC3 took a step forward (into the 24th century) and a step back (made the game over simplified and took out the other races).
SF Academy was really only good for the FMV. The rest was forgettable. Klingon Academy had great FMV PLUS great combat. Bridge Cmdr was the TNG version and although lacking the FMV the voice acting was still fairly good, it was easier to play than the mess that was Final Unity, and it turned out to be easily moddable.
I've wavered on getting Legacy multiple times thanks to the mods for it, but in the end I always forget it.

The SF Academy series were pretty good I'll agree but he best Star Trek games I ever played were the old DOS series from Interplay Entertainment Star Trek 25th Anniversary and Star Trek Judgement Rights. I would love to see these redone but to todays standards.

The ST game that wasn't officially a ST game, "Rules of Engagement", was a very good game for its time. You could merge it with another game called "Breach", which allowed turn-based control over your boarding party. There were sequels to these, RoE2 and Breach 2 & 3.

Did not get to try Bridge Commander, tho I probably might if given the chance. SFA was pretty good, but I have to go with Panzer on this one, KA was by far the best one. (i did try and/or have all the others listed)

Yes, 25th Anniv and Judgement Rites were good. I'm STILL annoyed that other one got cancelled. I forget its name now, but it would've been the 3rd in that series. It got far enough that the original series cast did VO work for it, even. AFAIK it was the last thing D Kelley did before he died, too.
Secret of Vulcan Fury, that was it.
