I finally purchased the last piece for my new rig. A Zotac 680 GTX with 4GB ram.

Setup:

Asus P8Z68 with PCI Gen 3.0
Intel I7 "ivy bridge" 3770k
32 GB Ram
Zotac 680 GTX w/4GB Ram
Steelseries zBoard keyboard
TrackIR 4
Razer Death adder mouse
Saitek x-52 stick/throttle/foot pedals
Logitech MOMO race wheel/pedals
xbox controller
23" Samsung Syncmaster monitor

Arma2 setup:

25GB RamDisk with all .pbo's and mods. All video settings at maximum (10k view, smaa, ...) except Post-Processing disabled because I hate glowing white. The only time ArmA2 goes to the hard drive is to load mission file, initial start, go online. No LOD switching or anything. Everything is in the RAM/ VRAM / CPU.

So does ArmA load the high-detail LoDs all the way out, then? On my computer sometimes it switches to lower res LoDs on vehicles at like 100 meters...

I will have to see if that is what the engine does. I never see any switching, even when flying. Everything is just there.

With the 1.62 patch it did pick up that I had 4GB vram. There was a fix in that patch for it.

My initial load time is about 3 seconds. The slow time is loading the mission file. Once you hit "Continue" all the objects are there. I don't see any loading. Instant start.

BIS says they are going to list out the post processing options seperately in the next patch so you can pick which ones to turn on/off.

With this setup it is proof that if they changed over to 64bit the game would be the #@$% !

It must be a culture thing. People have been screaming for years for it and there is the okt_noblur mod. But they stick to their guns.
Look at the security fixes they are now implementing due to all the hacks in DayZ. Those have been there since OFP.

They are going to have to completely redesign the multiplayer model to fix the hacker problems in DayZ.
