I refuse to use 6Updater/Launcher now for that very reason JonnyD. It also does so much crap without you knowing what it is doing that it is a danger to my system in my view. I had to reinstall Windows 7 once and ArmA2 three times due to that POS fracking up the files.

So where do you get your updated DayZ files from now?

The way I understood their website statement, they are now only released via SU.

I used to have their ftp address and get my files from there, but it suddenly started returning 404s.

When it returns 404s its usually the server being maxed out by high traffic. Personally I use the torrent download (loads faster than the site d/l) and I just update the arma betas manually. I guess it depends if you don't mind mucking around with the arma files or not (and if you have the retail vs. steam version of the game).

I use DayZCommander for everything right now. Dayz install, ARMA2 Updates. even has a Friend and Favorites list. I have been starting to use it's notepad more to keep notes of what is on which server.

ah - and I don't use Steam. I have an account but they stopped me using it when I changed my e-mail address and now their 'support' refuses to reply to my requests for them to change it so that I can receive the new password they have forced on me. The log-in says my Steam program has been installed into too many different computers, but actually it has been 'repeatedly' (4 or 5 times in 2 years) installed into the same PC, with exactly the same hardware and on the same partition of the same hard drive and from my fixed IP address, when I've reinstalled Windows
