Because of liberals...

*Slavery was abolished
*Women were given the right to vote
*The military was desegregated
*Schools and all public accomodations were desegregated
*Religious, racial, and gender discrimination were made illegal
*Laws banning interracial marriage were struck down
*Women attained the right to choose
*The USA became the most admired country in the world

Now, if the USA can eliminate discrimination based on sexual orientation we'll be admired even more.

Good find Olham and thanks for sharing. Just finished his book a few weeks back and began reading another from Arthur Lee called No Parachute. Fantastic account of his day to day life on the front as an RAF pilot during 1917 and 18. Highly recommended!

Lee's "No Parachute" is a great read; also Cecil Lewis' "Sagittarius Rising".
They must be two of the very best books by British pilots.

Already read "Sagittarius Rising" quite a few months back and it was another in depth read about day to day life as an airman in WW1. I would like to get ahold of a couple of bios from the German side like Urnst Udet "Ace of the Iron Cross" or Werner Voss "September Evening" or any other German Pilot Bio etc. Not easy to find here in the states.

Yes, Udet's book is a fine read; he must have been a guy one would have liked to be with; both humorous and empathic.

Another book I recommend is Julius Buckler's "Malaula! The Battlecry of Jasta 17".
It shows the then still unusual rise of a young roofer to become a lieutenant in the Deutsche Luftstreitkräfte -
a rank which would have normally only been reserved for high school graduates.
You'll get an insight into the life in a poor family in Germany at that time,
written by a man who never lost his humour and his decency.

The book about Max Immelmann introduces the reader to the time before the Jastas were installed;
the time of the "Fokker scourge", and the first German aces Immelmann and Boelcke.
Max Immelmann was the first German pilot to receive the order "Pour-le-Mérite", and after his
first name it was later nicknamed as "Blue Max" by the other pilots.
The book was written by his brother Frantz, who used Immelmann's letters to his family.

You could order both from AMAZON.

Ernst Udet: Ace of the Iron Cross

Julius Buckler: Malaula! The Battlecry of Jasta 17

Frantz Immelmann: Immelmann - The Eagle of Lille

Thanks for the book title of the Voss book - I didn't know it yet.

I read books way too fast so i like to space them out, I've read recently

Red Baron The life and death of an ace, by Peter Kilduff

and

Albert Ball VC The story of the 1st World War Ace, by Chaz Bowyer

Both these books was good reads, you can get a idea of tactics and how they themself changed over time.
Very interesting insights

I'm just re-reading the Kilduff book on MvR.
Albert Ball is the third British ace (with Mannock and McCudden) I will get a book about.
Thanks for the tip.
