BIG SORRY Tony!

I'm a bit of a Numpty at times and today is no exception. I put it down to the kids being on holiday, and driving me bonkers.

Anyway, problem fixed.

I'd not resized the 'S' PCX so the matching BMP and TPC were different sizes, and that caused your CTD.

The reason it works on my PC is I have 512x512 and 256x256 dummy files loaded in my EAW setup, so I never test 8bit anymore, as it looks rubbish on my PC. I forgot you need all the correct TPC's for testing in a completely new slot.

Well the zip seemed to work and as a result I have been tweaking the editor.
I'll try the new files.
One thing that I have established is that the lines need a minimum separation of 8 metres, otherwise the graphics overlap and you are likely to see just 3 rails.

Hi Tony.

That's good to know. 8 meters is a bit wide, as in reality is only 2 meters [known in Britain as the six foot], but in Europe it can be wider.

EAW was never designed as a rail Sim, but the railways played a vital role in WWII, and we spend loads of time getting the planes right, so why not spend a bit of time getting the ground war looking better. wink

Currently these are the appropriate placements for the level crossing. The tracks are running horizontally across the picture and are 16 metres apart which is exactly 1 pixel. I have one south of the track facing north and another north of the track facing south.

The difference between the two positions is 2.25 pixels or 36 metres
The centre point is 18 metres or 1.125 pixels which puts a reference line 0.125 pixels above the bottom line.

That might help as a guide for placement in future.
