Any time I have posted a question over at SAS, nobody is able to give me help. Even though they are easy questions that I know many people over there could answer if they wanted to. What is the problem over there? Anyone?

That's not only SAS, sadly: sometimes it's very frustrating to see how there's no will to be helpful by IL-2 communities (included SimHQ). SAS is especially badly organized, IMHO, since you can't easily understand WHERE to post questions and, when you think to have detected... you discover to be not allowed to post there because reserved only to modder members. There's for instance also an HSFX section, but they've no expert people and often you get no answer or ridiculous ones like "I too would know that!" frown

I got some better availability and knowledge at "banana" forum: you could try there.

Have you read any of the FAQs? That's usually the questions that they refuse to answer.

Well, I have myself received a lot of help through the years. But the discipline when it comes to posting in the correct place is pretty strict, I can agree on that. But still, you can't blame SAS for not having expert advice when it comes to HSFX, that's a completely different MOD pack and questions about it should of course be posted to those who made THAT special pack!

NOT true!

@SAS you got the Tech Help subsection with various places to post your questions, such as:

New Member Safety Area
learn basics about the forum, the game, and post potential "newbie" questions with no fear of harsh responses

Tech Help : Using Mods

Tech Help : Making Mods
help with making basic mods

@Poltava

Why to set an HSFX section (even called "Discussion&Support")if not "equipped" to answer properly? What they mean with "Support"? Something like cheerleaders? smile
Also posting at 242nd Squadron, though, seldom gives an answer: either they give false explanation (like a "corrupted" file which isn't corrupted, has been just packed wrong) or got offended when pointing out an inaccuracy and disdain to answer, instead to thank for help.

@vpmedia

Just yesterday I tried to post at "Making Mods" section, since I would need help to make a mod. Well, I'm not allowed to post there (no "NEW TOPIC" tag, as you can watch in attached screenshot):

I'm logged (see my nickname in upper left corner) but NO "new topic" tag in lower right corner!

So I posted at "The Lounge" (the big soup where everybody posts everything, with consequent visibility) and I'm still waiting for a single reply; please see at:

For example to fix finnish pilot names in dgen campaigns copy contents of Dgen\Finns.dat into Finns_ru.dat.
For german pilot names copy contents of Dgen\Germans.dat into Germans_ru.dat, etc.

you can't post in the modding section because you have to request membership to the modders group. They don't want the modding section filling up with threads asking for things or how to do thinks, it would make it hard to find the actual mods.

@vpmedia
Thank you very much! smile

@norm
Yes, I understand. But definition is important: calling it "Modders Reserved Section" would avoid misunderstanding.
