Had some issues today that I just don't quite understand... I'm sure most, if not all, of these are user related errors... but still.

We were playing mostly platoon level training missions... I was trying to divide the platoon into half, I would take half and Gunny would take command of the other half... but once I did that Gunny said he couldn't give orders to his half, or even get into the TC position, was just stuck into the gunner's position.

There were other times, where i would make the plan during the planning stages, but Gunny was never able to see it, and I was platoon commander. Same with text and images, like rally points, he couldn't see any of those both in planning stages and in game once started.

and at other times, we would get the platoon divided, all was working great but then I would move to OBSERVE his tank, and he said I took over it and he lost all control of his tank.

So my question... and maybe Gunny might clarify or add to this, but how can you split a platoon or force, and have all people players able to control there own force and/or be able to jump in and observe other units, then get back into there own without losing the command position.

some screens that might help or explain.

oh, another Q. on the first 2 images, that cone... is that visibility cone and the pink shade the engagement zone?

Priority search zone, engagement limit (range). The 'dot' is the visual target and has solid and open modes depending on whether the vehicle needs to move to observe. (forget which way around this is, but it should be obvious from dragging it around and noting the driver moving to bring eyes on).

When setting a BP ensure that it will correctly cover the ground required by moving the 'POI' about, then set it conservatively to 'just' give observation on the ENY approach route(s). The default is rather close, and will commonly lie in dead-ground, encouraging the driver to move to a more exposed position, or not to drive 'tactically' at all.

The priority search is only where the 'focus' of observation lies - there is still all-round visibility but this tends to be slower to pick up new threats. Once ENY are detected to the flanks then the internal comms within the plt will bring eyes on. The wider the search angle, the more likely the turret will be exposing flank armour to the 'nominal' threat direction, but the less time required to pick up off-axis threats within the zone... but the longer it takes to scan the arc.

Positioning mutually supporting and effective BP is an art-form, but is really satisfying when it works well.

You can 'send-to' your plans and notations by right clicking and selecting the appropriate target. Otherwise they only appear on your screen.

You can also 'give ownership' and control of the vehicles. The 'owner' has priority of control over a player 'in' the seat(s). You shouldn't lock the vehicle ownership/positions for normal use. There have been a few oddities in how control passes, so it is possible that a feature/bug is operating ~ but I'd first make sure that the 'controlling' player is made the 'owner' of his vehicle(s).

Correct, and Wrong.
Computer-controlled units will spend about 25% of their observation time within the boundaries of the cone. If you open it to the widest extent possible, it is about 90° wide and therefore exactly a quarter circle. If you narrow it, it will give a disproportionally higher observation "attentiveness" at the expense of all-around observation.
The LOS bubble is the reference for the hull-down position adaptation in the absence of known enemy (See chapter eight of the user's manual for details).

He asked for the indication of the coloured segment = observation priority arc and engagement range.
The LOS bubble was addressed as a second item - although I designated it as a 'visual target' the meaning is identical. I did forget the 'in the absence of known enemy' part.

I could perhaps have been clearer, but as far as I am aware the original reply was correct in most respects.
