You go down if you hit it smile.

However if you only fly through the leafs, you hear a nice sound of leafs.

I'd say the tree damage model is pretty advanced compared to other sims wink

Great shots - W o T looks great, and the graphics engine from Wings of Prey was always excellent - great looking and efficient tech.

It's ok to post comparisons in here, just as long as it's at least tenuously linked to CloD in some way. If it's just all about WoT then probably best to use the Gaijin forum.

Do you have any screenshots of the transportation infrastructure for WT? It will be interesting to see if the WT maps have a realistic road, rail, and bridge networks for extensive FMB missions and campaigns. WOP leaned more toward furbal size maps and I hope WT has grown in the air to ground type possibilities.

There was a link to a 1hr+ video of WT posted to the main CloD forum,
before it was moved to the Gaijin pages (while I was reading it), and
I had a very close look at the terrain rendering. The terrain size is small,
only a bit west of Dover, straight up to the Thames estuary around Shippey,
and east to the ocean out a little way offshore. At Dover, there is no
rail line running along the dockside west to Shakespeare Tunnel, but then
CloD doesn't have that quite right either, but this is worse, having nothing
at all. The beach in Dover harbour is way too steep, so the piers and
breakwaters are correspondingly way too high, like maybe 3x actual.
Dover castle is pretty well done, as you can see in the image above,
as are the buildings in Dover. As with CloD, Folkstone Warren is entirely
missing, being represented by white cliffs (both copying Rowan's original error
there, I think). that was about as much as I could glean from using stop
motion on the video.

Not defending WT or anything, but i think it should be noted that it features all fronts of WW2, meaning it has maps for them also. Malta,Russia,Europe,Italy,Finland,Japan,China,Pacific, BoB, Afrika etc while Clod as we know is only BoB.

Also there is a mode called 'World War' which is supposed to be an ace in Gaijins sleeve, they hold the info so tight no one knows anything about it yet.

I'm beta testing WT so wont say too much (I'm beta testing CoD atm when I come to think of it !) but the graphics do it for me. If people are prepared to set aside their snob attitudes as to what makes a 'proper sim' it is a cracking game. Good immersion, nice graphics, sounds are good and it runs well. I think they are on to a winner.

The new CoD patch is a step in the right direction as well imo. I hope they kill the last of the CTD bugs (not that I've had an in game CTD for the last two betas, and the latest seems to have cured the menu crash) so they can concentrate on re-introducting features and squash some of the other bugs. CoD might be the problem child sim on my HD but I'm giving it house room so I can see how it comes on.

With those two plus RoF and the ever faithfull IL2 HSFX I've got more than I can play in any week.
