I messed around with my settings for hours and hours, and FINALLY things are smooth as butter. The fix?

Sim Savvy's photo scenery.

No matter what i tried, i could not make the default scenery, or UTX run smooth. But once I installed the photo scenery, and took some sliders down, i get the most incredible flying experience. This is HD!

BTW, i am running 4GHz i7 2600K, ASUS 5850, 8GB RAM, Windows 7 x64.

Great FPS with the Citation Mustang. 30 solid. No stutters.

Congrats! It is so nice when you get FSX running well and can then focus on enjoying some flying instead of tweaking thumbsup

That's why I gave up on tweaking long time ago. I don't care about 5% extra framerate, I'm having fun instead. I don't even touch fsx.cfg anymore.

Just so we're clear; your solution to a smooth FSX cost's $300 and comes on a 2TB hard drive jawdrop

It's cheaper than buying a real plane. Lol

...and eliminates all autogen.

To each their own, I guess.

The elimination of Autogen is where the smooth performance comes in.

personally, I'd rather put the $300 toward PC hardware such as a new CPU, GPU, and Mobo, but as you said- to each their own.
