Wow, nice graphics and environment, but I'm gonna pass on it just like CQ and the rest of the bull crap that's coming out for BF3. I'm not impressed just yet. This game so far has become nothing but cheaters and premium level butt holes running around that can't be killed for squat. Maybe I just stink, but I didn't get to level 3 colonel (everyone can laugh now) by camping and cheating, and I don't do marathon gaming sessions (maybe that's my problem). Why pay for more butt whooping, I've got all I can stand as it is. All this is just my opinion though. Back to DCS, my true love.
Thanks,

Uncle

to each there own... I've been playing since release... and thou have ran into a few cheaters here and there, for the most part i think people essagrate... been my favorite game of the year and will continue to be most likely... it's who you play with that counts... anyone jumping on open servers will most likely have issues, but with good teamwork, a tactical squad can overcome MOST (not all) cheaters and still have a great game... and you can always tell who is a team player but points awarded, IE: my kills are terrible, but points for teamwork are higher then most.

The Battlefield series has been brilliantly executed, as far as I'm concerned, with BF3 being the best of the bunch. My opinion , of course. Like Magnum, this seems to be my favorite game. Didn't actually realize that, until I found myself playing it more than any other game on my harddrive.
This king of the hill thing might have some problems, though, we'll see. Firstly, for the reasons that were mentioned, but also because of the five tank per side limit.
I'm picking this expansion up to be a tanker. If I jump into that mode and find that I'm not able to grab a tank, I probably won't be back.
Looks terrific, though. I noticed some of the new tank destroyers. Really looking forward to it.

So, is there a SimHQ Teamspeak server for BF3 and if so would someone be willing to "train" me on the finer points of combat? This game does have potential for me but I just have to find a better way of getting there. I am a member of a clan, but that's not working out too well for now. Team work does make a difference and it does make the game more fun. I've got a decent computer to run BF3 so all I need is some good ol' help.

Thanks all,

Uncle

We have a TS3 server, (up top of main page click multiplayer for info)... we had our own server for 6 months but that has recently expired... might get another one when the next DLC comes.

People are always there and playing... well except for lately, think most are taking a break till new DLC... all you have to do is join in, you and the people you play with make this a good game or not. wink

The Party functions using BF Sonar work fine for me, create a party in battle log, invite people, chat or talk..

Well they had to make a mode that had really small and focused combat for all those players who like the meatgrinder maps. Chances are there will be assignments requiring you to play it in order to unlock something or another. Thankfully it doesn't look as bad as Squad Deathmatch, but its not much better.

wtf it has to do with you beeing unable to kill them(or you getting more killed)?! bs_sign
You only have 5 ''bonus'' guns, and they're not that good, heck I'm still playing with the default guns.

I agree though that on PC there is a lot of cheats going on.... banghead

maybe you should try servers with less pop and shorter games, cheaters don't seem to bother with them

cheers cheers

I saw this vid but I don't think that those guys do it any justice. More "their opinion" then a real look at what the "king of the hill" game type brings. Also, they really didn't have a clue on map size and impact. I do agree how this game type may become "boring" or old after a while but not sure again because of other factors.

Just as an aside....and I hope this is "legel" here on SimHQ....my son recently started an XBOX BF3 server if anyone is interested in the XBOX version. Name of server: (GAMR) Grand Army. It is a East Coast server. Right now has been running a map rotation of Rush and Conquest but if you would like to see any other map or game type you can let me know.
