This is the error-message I`m getting whenever I start a game, mostly within a few minutes. It is resulting in the system completely freezing and the sound looping. Sometimes I can end the game through the taskmanager, but often I have to hard-reset the system. While surfing the net or doing other stuff, the system is competely ok, it only happens, when under 3D load.
I have googled a lot and tried a lot of things. Last night I ran a test with prime for 13 hours which came back with no errors. Temps didn`t go over 70°C.
It seems, either the Mainboard or the GFX card is faulty. Unfortunately I don`t have a second system where I could check the GFX card.
Is there a program like prime for checking the GFX card? Any other ideas? Would suck to change one component only to find out it is the other.
TIA
Karsten

Download HWinFo64: http://www.hwinfo.com/download64.htmlInstall, Launch Application, Choose "Sensors Only", Click Run. Scroll down to your GPU, and Look at the Temperatures, Fan RPM, fan Speed Setting. nvlddmkm is part of nVidia's Driver set

Is there a program like prime for checking the GFX card? Try furmark, it tends to stress GPUs more than any game currently available.

THX,
just DLed and tried Furmark, unfortunately the system froze there too. I tried underclocking too, but didn`t help either.
One run with Furmark lasted for around 10 minutes, temps were at 82°C max. which should be ok.
CPU temps don`t go over 70°C with prime, should be alright too.
However, tomorrow I´ll disassemble the system and check the wiring and blow out the coolers. Don`t think it will help much though.

Well,
it seems I found the culprit. After reading some more on the net, I finally stumbled over someone saying turning VSYNC off could do the trick. So far, it seems he was right, Railworks, FSX, RoF and CloD seem to run okay.
