I was wondering if anyone knows to what extent CFS3 is used in WOFF, if at all?
If it is required, is it basically for the same purposes it was required for the previous version.

Best Regards;

Basic sim engine, or at least part of it, has been and will be used AFAIK.
But they are getting deeper and deeper into it's code.

In previous phases it might have contributed more, but now the legality remains

Regarding the following quotes:

Given your statements, and the fact that CFS3 is no longer produced by Microsoft and I doubt supported, Is there any chance that the CFS3 code that is required by WOFF, could be imbedded in the WOFF product and negate the need for the CFS3 disk. This may be a licensing issue but there should be a work around since CFS3 is no longer sold. Just curious if there is an opportunity to package it all in WOFF.

Much would depend on how the Gentleman's Agreement was worded, knowledge of which I'm not privy to.

We can't respond to every question about WOFF as we are still making it and the installer has not been made - also many features have not even been released yet - but yes currently you will need CFS3.
