Hi Tonester. wave

Great to hear from you again! cool

Maybe there might be a bit of free time to get involved again? With all the tools, and the incredible flexibility in the game, the only real limit is your imagination. wink

Hi Tonester. Your notes could be useful, and so could any notes re the editor.
They could be put in a help file, and there can be more than one. If a help file is a text file the new version of the editor can load it.

wink Jel

hey guys...never say never with regards to getting involved...i reinstalled EAW a couple of months back and flew it a lil...but mainly spent alot of time trying to get TrackIR working, to no avail, then i suffered an SSD meltdown and lost everything again...am slowly peicing it all back together but with working away 2 on 2 off, the band, the wife, and renovating the house the hours and days slip away very quickly....i rarely find the time to even fly which is sad considering i have most of the stuff i always wanted and now little time to devote to it...my days of flying into the wee small hours are behind me alas...

ive also had a very bad year health wise that started with a fall from a ladder, that through complications, damn near killed me at christmas time...and im still not back to full strength....and may never be so exhaustion is never far away...its funny how when your young you cant imagine ever not feeling invincible, and then you get to a certain age and if you belted your body like i have it all goes pear shaped rather rapidly lol....but i digress

Will sort through my notes and see if there is anything that could be of use to anyone, but it is all old school so i doubt it....At some stage down the line i will see if i can get it to run on my laptop, then i might be able to find the time when im sitting in my room up north of an evening to have a play with all the new stuff thats available....would love to be able to go over NJ and bring it up to modern EAW standards, and also change alot of stuff that seemed like a good idea at the time but really wasnt in retrospect....With these new tools i could go over the targets i created...make them better...and add a heap more a heck ova lot quicker than what it took at the time. I look back on it now and wonder what i was thinking...Nachtjager...and its mainly ground pounding...at night....how embaressing lol...Maybe NachtZestroyer (excuse my pretend german) would have been more apt.

I admire the work you guys have put into this gem of a sim over the years, your tenacity and dedication is something to be fiercely proud of...You know when i fired it up for the first time recently in Win 7...and it worked almost flawlessly...i was awestruck...and that stirring piece of music that accompanys the opening screens still strikes a chord with me all these years later...2bars in and i was back at the start of my love affair with WW2 aviation, and aviation in general, all over again...and the immersion was instant...ive pretty much flown them all and the modern stuff may be as pretty as all git out but not one of them has ever given that feeling of immersion...You are there in the BOB before you have even left the briefing room...in a similar way to the modern music industry will never be what it was through the 60s and 70s... flight sim industry will never recapture that magic that microprose had in spades...no matter how much lipstick you put on a pig, its still a pig... wink
