Hey Grunt - I don't think there is any favoritism going on or that we are ignoring you. It is just customary that if you don't know the answer to not clutter the thread with "I have no idea" posts.

I think you would want to wait until Steam releases the DLC. I don't have steam versions of Arma2 but I know they have released the other DLC's so I would imagine they will also release ACR.

Negative. It has not been released yet. I think they are saying it will be out on steam sometime "in the middle of August."

Thanks to all who replied...

Army of the Czech Republic "Lite" version patch released.

File: A2:CO compatibility MP patch ( ACR lite )

The lite version of the brand new Arma 2: Army of the Czech Republic DLC lets you try out all new content except for the missions. Please note that this sample incorporates a lower resolution textures and lesser sound quality than the full DLC.

I like it so far - anyone try the single player firing range mission? It's pretty neat.

yeah, i like that you can see where your bullets hit.

i'm quite a fan of the uk59 MG. biggrin

i think the takistan cutout looks great, better than the original. seems like there's more bushes and tress, and higher terrain mesh resolution.

Bugs and more bugs is how I'd describe this DLC. Seems like they didn't bother to do even basic beta testing before release and the campaign is HORRID, no cutscenes, no atmosphere and blatant grammar errors in the briefings and dialogue. The "new" terrains are just smaller versions of maps we already had. They knocked it out of the park with the awesome BAF DLC, PMC DLC was ok...I feel pretty shafted by BIS on this one...

Yeah, the campaign is starting to annoy me a bit too. Not exactly BIS's finest work.

Of course everyone is entitled to his/hers oppinion but saying that the PMC DLC is OK and this ACR DLC is BAD or sugesting that the PMC is better than ACR is completly wierd or "out of this world", to say at least!
IMO ACR is much better than PMC in the sense that it has MUCH MORE content! PMC has what? One new assault rifle (plus variants) which we already had in ArmA2 (the XM8), One "Assault Shotgun" - The AA-12 which has the most horrible modeled sight (ironsight) which is terribly textured and not to mention that's too overpowered with explosive shells, a SUV (which already existed in ArmA2:OA) armed with a minigun and finally one not so great (at least IMO) helicopter - the KA-60. Comparing this the content of ACR (see my first post here in this thread) and you'll see that PMC completly pales in comparison with ACR!

I even think that in terms of content the ACR DLC is even better than BAF but I admit that both DLCs are very good in terms of content (while PMC is again, VERY BAD) and saying that ACR is better than BAF or vice-versa could be a matter of personal taste.

With this I'm not saying that ACR doesn't have it's negative points. Again, the maps are IMO disapointing since they are very small and completly based on existing maps (2 based on Chernarus and 1 on Takistan). I also started the ACR campaign and so far the only bug that I found so far (which IMO is a big one) is that the AIs see thru the grass - If you hide in the grass the enemy AIs will easily spot and kill you. I don't know if this is an issue that only affects the new maps or the entire ArmA:CO content with ACR.

you didn't notice all of the grammar issues in the briefings and dialogue? It looks like they had a 4 yr old do it nope And I say PMC is better than ACR for the fact that PMC came with an actual new map and not just cut outs of stuff we already had, and while the campaign was a bit too "arcadey" IMHO, at least it looked professionally done. The only good parts about the DLC are the new vehicles and units but a lot of those have config issues. Look, I'm definitely a fan of BIS, been a supporter since Opflash but sometimes you gotta call a spade a spade and this DLC is dire need of some major fixing.
