Blue,
Inspired would be the emotion I would use. A nice pit with the wife's blessing, who could ask for more.

I actually think its rather simplistic and quite clever...some people go WAY WAY over the top...wish i had the time...oh and some workworking skills...love to know how he managed to curve that timber so neatly...if i tried that it would snap...i can do lots and lts of handy stuff but woodworking has never been my strong point

Tonester,

I think the usual method would be to use steam to soften the wood then bend it in a clamp and let it cool and dry out... not sure if that is how he did it though. The hardest part of pit building is setting up the spray system to spray oil onto the monitor and into your face when you get an engine hit though... smile

cheers,

Pobs

Funny Pobs, I think he used several layers of thin ply, 6mm will flex nicely and then ya just lay a couple on top of each other and screw them down to the posts.
The frame work is easy, it's the electronics that boggle me.

Just had a thought, you could even get a hold of some clear perspex and put a windscreen on it aswell, just to stop the oil gettin in ya eyes.. hick
