You appear to be confusing the flight sim genre with a particular flight sim product. And given what has occurred since CLOD's release, I think that flight simming would be in a better state if it had been shut down right after release. Much better than this slow death that has lead to so much acrimony.

Do you see any other WW2 aircombat flight sim that is going to revive the market? WT may for the furbal crowd. Just because some people can't come to grips with the fact COD was released 'unfinished' and the development team are still working on it, doesn't mean the series is dead.

1946 is still going strong, much stronger than CoD.

Oi! Similar for me, though I do tinker with '46 on occasion.

I agree and it should be as IL-2 1946 is a finished sim that most people can run effectively. That will change if and when the new series game engine is fixed, and theaters built.

Dead wrong. ALL sims forums are not dead. DCS and BMS are consistantly 4-5x the traffic of CoD (was not the case on release of CoD). Quality products attract users and failed broken software drive users away. WW2 genre is waiting for something to replace the failure of CoD. If Gajiin puts out a decent product that works well OOTB, CoD is finished permenantly.

Most people hear understand we are talking about WW2 combat flight sims.

Not when you specifically say ALL SIMS, but ok you meant WW2 sims.

Fact is CoD forum is totally dead and is probaby too late for any resurgence now. Any buisness good model would show you this is a disaster that has past the point where it will be turned around. In a buisiness like this you have to strike while the iron is hot and that train has left the station for CoD.

If you look a few posts back I list eight WW2 air combat flight sims, and one WW1 prop sim. Your one of the few people who even mention Jet sims in the COD forum. COD and IL-2 respectively receive most of the WW2 aircombat forum traffic. The developer is about to release another patch for COD. I don't know what world you live in, but in this prop world COD isn't dead yet.

I do wish COD looked as good as War Thunder but I am guessing that WT gets its framer rates by having a very small map. I hated it when in the previous game you almost spawned right on the action. Yet for just a drop in dog fight the map size of IL2 seems fine. But it too is small for doing online missions against another team.
