I'm currently dealing with german bomb fuzes (SC50, SC250) and moving targets (trucks, tanks): it seems none is suited for the low level dropping that I think it's required to hit. Either they've long arming time (see following note, though) or long delay, both allowing the target to be well far from where the bomb fell when this latter explodes frown

Note: I was more lucky with stationary targets when I hit, one after another, two AA MG emplacements, applying historical technique to dive approximately 45°. I drop first pair of SC50 with instant fuze and was surprised to see their blast mirrored on my Revi shortly after their release, when I was still very low and was just recovering: apparently lasted less than 3.5 s confused. Second pair, set to long delay fuze, regularly exploded long after its dropping, when I got HUD message "AAA destroyed".

Tips to hit moving targets? What is, exactly, arming time?

I imagine Arming time to be the time between the bomb leaving the aircraft and arming, if it hits the deck before this, it most likely will never arm.

That said, I just installed the game after a year off, I cannot comprehend half the stuff that has been added myself smile

Carefully read manuals; believe me, it's a good investment.

Re-installing the game too. There was a bombing guide our by THOR that I found very helpful. Sounds like you are using a "real" bomb modification <neat!>. Techniques should be the same . . just taking into account the addition fuse settings. Search for a bombing guide by THOR or THOR II or THOR ][. At least . . thats how I remember it <grin>.

Time required for the bomb to arm once it leaves your plane. Simple as that in this game.

Then there is the delay. With allied bombs you can choose between instant (long arming time with very short delays), long and low level fuses (almost instant arming time but minimum of 4 sec delay).

German planes (bombs) have one advantage, the ability to switch "on the fly" to suite your attack type. You need to bind a key for it (away from my gaming rig so I can't look up the command, but it is located last under the MISC section IIRC).

Unless I am mistaken, electric sea fuse is for attacking ships while allied bombs don't have this requirement.

To get the accurate arming / delay info, press the TAB key when airborne.

Its T}{OR. smile Thank you for the recommendation.

The manual is available from the link in my signature. A bit dated by now (BT2 angles need adjusting) and gunners are not a problem any more in 4.11.1, but the rest of the stuff still applies not only to IL2 but to bombing in general.
