Will check out my XBL account later today to look for that new feature, not allowing new consoles to make purchases or changes without primary account authorization via trusted channel, is indeed the right anti-fraud control they were missing that I yelled at the customer support guy about when my account got hacked last Sept :-)

So if they implemented that now, I will quit my annoyance with them and just limit the annoyance to EA.

Gamers rightfully blamed MS even if the leak isnt on their servers, because it was too easy to take a hijacked LiveID, and download your entire profile, credit card info and all, to another console and make purchases.

which is what has been saving PSOnline, where if you restore an account, you have to re-enter the Exp. Date and Sec. Code for the cards.

I know people that have had their PSOnline account hacked aroudn the time this all started in Oct '10, but the hacking on PSOnline died off quickly when those responsible figured out they cannot make purchases with hi-jacked accounts, so why bother, when they can do anything they want with an HiJacked Live account.

Looks like someone has tried to get my account. I've gotten two emails from MS about someone trying to verify my account. I don't think they actually succeeded though.

Did you install any recent EA titles? Mine was hacked from me installing the FIFA12 Demo on XBL.

At least Microsoft now emails you that people are trying it now, that must be the new security they mention above since I could find no special notification settings on my XBL account.

Keep an eye out and call them if you notice any of your XBL profiles can no longer log in, as that will mean someone got in and took over the account.

No, I haven't installed any EA titles recently, but I DO have a lot of EA games on Xbox linked to EA's servers. (Battlefield 3, Tiger Woods, NHL, Madden, Dragon Age, NFS, Fifa 10 etc)

Could also be someone who has seen my Gamertag on Youtube or something.

Checked on the account earlier and there was no activity on it or changes made.

I only have one game linked in such a manner. I pay for everything with prepaid cards or Paypal on XBL. Or I did, I no longer have a 360.

I'll keep an eye out.
