Hey guys, been a while!!

Okay first off the 256/512 thing is for making pcx images for skins, not for doing the menus. They are now 1024x768. PicPac doesn't care what size the image is. The file size will be larger.

Second, when I save a pcx in Photoshop it does not ask for any information at all. HOWEVER, if I recall correctly, there is a "MODE" in which you change to a 256 color depth. Photoshop doesn't do this right, though. As I recall, it saves the image's palette in reverse order from any other program on the planet. I always used Photoshop to save it as a pcx, then open it in Paint Shop Pro and set the color depth to 256 and save.

At this point you should be able to use picpac to convert the image to an mpc. Make sure you tic the selection for it - or just change the name afterwards (they are really the same type of images, LOL!)

I have done this from memory; I will need to hook up my more or less defunct computer to get to my EAW stuff....I will try to give that a go tonight. But as I recall when I forgot to change to 256 colors AFTER making a pcx, I ended up with the problem of a black screen...

Cheers, and a big HOWDY to all my mates !!

CJ

Hi CJ - good to see you.
The screens I converted or made for 1.28E with Photoshop used a 244 colour palette. There are 12 colours reserved for the old menu stuff which get replaced, and if you use the "full" 256 any areas of the pic that use these 12 show the wrong colours, usually a purple-pink, and the screen looks horrible.

I've made exactly what CJ said, and I see something like this:

So....because I'm not a talented graphician, I can't play with this palette, I have a big request to MrJelly...if you are the man who made this picture for 1.28E, can you do this for me also? Using exactly the same font but with "PILOTENLAUFBAHN" and not "Pilot's CAREER" instead? I think, it will be not so complicated...

OSH, I made this image originally. I also have one with the text in German. Give me a day and I'll get a new, good copy to you - I have a very busy day today!

Cheers,

CJ

CJ, thanks! But if I can ask - use the same font, which is used for English version, please...
