Played the sim for the first time in ages the other night after updating to the latest and greatest.

WOW! Jason, it's an amazing experience. Well done 777.

If you haven't tried it lately, you should.

Rise of Flight is easily one of the top 5 flight sims I have ever played. It's an outstanding sim and one that I play regularly. In fact, I flew a few cooperative missions tonight.

777 is top notch. Love what they've done with ROF.

Here I am safely landed after I got shot up by a DFW rear gunner. I did manage to down the DFW though and get credit for the kill. smile

Not from tonight, but here's a Nieuport 11 that received the business end of my twin Spandaus from my Albatross D.II

Thanks Piper, Panzer and Mangus. The guys work their butts off to make it worthwhile. More goodies coming soon which are in Beta now. :-) The last update added some real special stuff for sure.

Hear, Hear Piper....Its top drawer. yep But what took you so long, man? Tsk tsk. biggrin I've played RoF since day 1 (got it imported from the States) and it has come on in leaps and bounds since then. Bona fide classic now, in my book.

Its free to play (with a couple of planes the Spad XIII and Albatros DVa) and there is a sale on aircraft atm which ends sometime tomorrow I believe? Give it a go, even if you are not a WWI buff or fan, you could become a convert. Love it, can't praise it highly enough. Still a few things to iron out, (along with the inevitable 'controversies' over a few FM's etc....par for the course in any sim lol) but all round it is a class act and well worth trying out. Syndicate server gets a lot of people on multiplayer at the weekends, even mid week sometimes and it is great fun. smile

I just want to send some praise to Jason and the team also. While I still don't like having to buy everything piece by piece, your game is like a diamond in amongst a pile of turds. thumbsup Yes I know, I'm very eloquent.:D Mom would be proud. biggrin

Can hardly wait for the English Channel! Already pre-paid as well as one of those boat planes.

While impressive looking from what I've seen on Youtube, I don't get excited about WW1 stuff. I just wish 777 would create an expansion pack to include WW2 aircraft. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Rise of Flight, is hard to beat.

WW1 combat is very challenging because the planes were so fragile and challenging to fly. The flight modeling in ROF is amazing and gives such a great feel. I dont know what these planes flew like in real life, but ROF is what I would have imagined it to be like.

I to, was not a big WW1 fan before ROF came a long, but I must say its gotten me interested in the subject. Dogfights take place much more close up and personal than say WW2. and moderm day, fire and forget missles are not much fun to me. Getting on someones tail so close that you can count the hairsd on the back of their head and watching the little pieces of plane fly off as you pepper them with bullets, is great fun (virtually). I wouldnt want to do it in real life!

If 777 ever goes the WW2 route, Ill be right there to support them, but Im loving ROF and and there is still a lot to do in WW1.

Rob

I absolutely agree!
RoF is top notch! Graphics, realism, flight simulation is very good. It is also very well supported by the developers, and continues to evolve.
I have preordered the channel map and the seaplanes.
If I could make a wish, I'd like to see some zeppelins in the sim, and of course a Bleriot XI so we can recreate the first channel crossing..! ;-)

I have just invested in a Geforce 680 GTX. Can't wait to see what it will do with RoF. I have a 285 today, and that card works fairly well.

Stay on the path, 777, and keep up the good work.
