Hello everyone!
Today a small unscheduled update, Ilya answered some of your questions that
were asked in this thread:

http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=33368

Let's go:

Quote:
The Launcher exe crash for me is right after I exit the single player game
with the Esc key. Can you tell me if this is the bug you are looking for?

We know when the game crashes, we don’t know why. There are hundreds of
thousands of lines of game code, and something somewhere does something
and we can’t catch it doing it. I.e. all the information we get in the crash dumps
is from right after the fatal error, and we still cannot pinpoint the actual thing
that brings about the crash.

Quote:
Are you fix the He111 AI problem too?

Yes

Quote:

Are the guys going to make some changes in the Sounds? (engines, weps ,
etc)?

We’re making some small changes here and there, but we’re pretty happy with
the engine sounds as they are right now.

Quote:
I like the eastern front ground textures but you will fix the horizont water
problem in the next sequel?

We’re looking at some major improvements to the terrain and water in the
sequel, but I’d rather talk about them after they’re implemented, tested, and
working.

Quote:
Were you able to fix the vibrating shadows?

That is another thing on our list of planned improvements, but that is not a quick
and easy change.

Quote:

Can you discuss more on the "fixed problem with the trees" for the next
patch? Are they not such a fps drain now?

We mean that the trees no longer disappear in patches, or appear right around
the player.

Quote:

Shall the problem of the double markings in the trak record be corrected?
And the idle throttle problem of the Spitfire MKI?

No changes to tracks in the imminent beta. List of changes to FM and aircraft will
be posted in the beta’s readme very shortly.

Quote:

Could you confirm if problems with FMs are still being examined and
worked on?

Yes, of course. Never said we stopped working on the FM!

Quote:

What about the significant fps drop on some systems? Has that been fixed
or even acknowledged?

We can’t acknowledge the astonishment of the unacknowledged
accomplishment.
Or, rather, we cannot be sure, but we believe we found what it was caused by.
Only the next beta will show whether our fix was effective for everyone.

Is in the upcomming Patch SLI and Quad SLI still working as "Performance
Break"?

For Explanation: I am Using 3 Systems. The Big one is i7 - 6 Core @
6x4GHZ, 12 GB Tripple Channel DDR3 RAM, and 2x GF 590 GTX with
together 6 GB Video DDR 5 RAM.
The second Main System is i7 - 4x3,5 GB, 16 GB DDR3 RAM Quad Channel
with a GF 580 AMP Version GTX with 3GB DDR 5 RAM.
The effect is, the System Nr. 1 is with 90 AC in Combat at 25-35 FPS on
High End Settings.
The much smaller System, Nr. 2 is with exact same Settings and same
Mission at 50-120 FPS!

Oleg wrote me at beginning of CloD, before he was gone, that this belongs
to the not implemented SLI and Quad SLI support.
Is this crazy feature still in? Or did you solve the Problem?
We haven’t made changes to our SLI and Quad SLI support in the upcoming
patch.
More specifically about the SLI question.
SLI support is two-ways, it needs to be in our game and in NVidia drivers. We
have it in our game, but the patch needs to be certified by NVidia and a change
needs to be added on their end.
We probably will try to get the upcoming betapatch certified by NVidia and get
SLI support for the game with the next driver release.

Is the team aware of the issues with bombsights?
http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpos...&postcount=121
Here is the link to that thread with all the bomber bugs and suggestions:
http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=32592

Aware, not fixed yet, as the person responsible has been working on other FM
and cockpit system issues down the line.

Quote:
Any news on windows 8 launcher fixes?

Windows 8 is not supported at this time

Quote:

Will you solve the problem of mirror on the Spitfire and Hurricane in the
patch has come.

Sorry, not yet!

Quote:
Could you please advise what fixes have been applied to the currently
incorrect flight modelling of the Spitfires (all marks), Hurricanes (all
marks), Bf 109's, and ME 110's?

List of changes to FM and aircraft will be posted in the beta’s readme very
shortly.

It is not the most exciting update ever, but for me the most interesting parts are:
1. Fixed HE 111 ,(Iguess thats the bombsight issue),
2. Confirmation that SLI is actually an issue that they not only acknowledge (for the first time in over a year) but that they have contacted Nvidia in regard to this issue. Especially as one with an SLI system with no hope of an upgrade to a single more powerful card in the near future.
3. The very fact that Luthier has responded in person suggests to me that they are fairly confident in the state of the next beta, pure speculation I know but then thats what this part of the forum is for smile2

Bad news that it appears there is no quick fix for the Launcher exe, and flickering shadows. Shadows/smoke/clouds have to be part of the particle issue which appears to be the main fps culprit of the sim. The best news is the development is still "working" and making some improvements to the fps, FM's, etc, and are working on terrain and water improvements for the Sequel. Hopefully they will test some of those terrain and water improvements in a patch for COD, before releasing the sequel. Although I could see them holding back on some feature improvements as an incentive to merge the Sequel with COD. That said they know few will buy the sequel unless they're sure the series has made some major improvements to all aspects.

Agreed Chivas, at least it looks like they will be still around for a while.

B6 just stated they have every major bug eliminated today.... LOL

Hello everyone!

We’ve just fixed the last major bug about five minutes ago. We are building the new patch right now, but we’d like to keep it in for Monday just in case something else comes up. We’d really like to avoid releasing it with some other unforeseen issue.
