I've had a couple of CTDs caused by "out of memory" errors. Not a lot, but a couple. Particularly frustrating upon completion of a great campaign mission right before it's time to RTB!
I checked the forums and see that this problem has been around awhile and might be related to the fact that I'm still running Windows XP SP3. However, there didn't seem to be one single fix and I'm uncomfortable dabbling in things I'm not too familiar with.
As this relates to the 1.026 patch, I must say that I don't recall seeing this particular CTD error message before...but I can't swear to it.

There is a way to make your 32 bit windows use 3GB of RAM. I used it with XP32 without a problem, DCS A10 wouldn't even start without it. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1092529&postcount=38Do read the instructions carefully though. The real solution is 64bit windows, I can't remember having a CTD in ROF since building my Win7 64 machine.

I often get a CTD the first time I try to fly a quick mission. It will load up and then just before you get into the flight, boom, CTD. "ROF has stopped working". If I reload right away and try again, it works nearly 100% of the time. (all mods uninstalled, and running with "mods off" in the options)

I have upgraded to 64 bit windows, including all the drivers.
I dont seem to get it in QM, but career and multiplayer are woeful, and I have given up on trying to host.
I upgraded hoping that this issue would be fixed but no such luck :-(

Salute,
I seem to have a fix for my issues.
Thanks to Gavagai on the Official 777 Forums for the pointers
1) First remove ANY and ALL mods particulaly in LUAscript folders. Check the threads for the LATEST mods if you wish to use them. 1.026 and onwards are gamechangers as far as mod compatibility goes, both in multiplay creating a server and in Career.
2) Although it is old the 266.58 driver for nVidia seems to be the only one which can guarantee stability. The latest beta driver has promise from my experience, but since rolling back to 266.58 so far no problems
I hope this helps, but of course your milage may vary
Salute Katsai

A friend I fly with and I both had CTDs last night when a multiplayer map ended. I'm running Win 7 64 bit, AMD quad core, ATI 5850 video. His rig is nearly the same, but with a 6870 card.

Greetings
@Vocatx
I only got rid of the issues by a complete rebuild of the system, ensuring that all vestiges of any mods had been deleted. That fixed some of the multiplayer/mods on issues.
I have no idea as to stable drivers for anything other than nVidea, all I know is my recent upgrade to 64bit, though worth it in the end, led me into driver upgrade hair pulling frustration :-(
Hope this helps
Salute Katsai
