Some shots from a day in AP: Operation Star (just before dawn to a bit after sunset). These are from the Pavlovka, March 7-8, 1943 operation. I'm playing as the Russian 104th Rifle Brigade vs elements of the 2nd SS Panzer Division "Das Reich". As you might guess, the Germans have lots of armor and mechanized units and I have some rifle platoons, 4 old guns, and later some Bren carriers and light tanks. I have to hold the Germans for about 2 days and try to stop them from crossing the river Mzha. Not working out so far, they've pushed me back pretty far, I've been pleased to note that the AI seems a fair bit more competent than in the original achtung panzer. Not perfect, but it seems to support armor better and carried out a couple decent attacks. Certainty good for being unscripted.

When all else fails, kick em in the family jewels...

Same position as above recaptured in a night counter attack. The persistance is pretty neat, fox holes and frozen bodies are still there six hours later.
