Jasta 11, 1917.

I Checked out an Albatros D-III for a Instrument Test Flight this morning. While up, I spotted Archie going off in the Distance. The kite was running smoothly so poured on the power.

The Weather was getting bad and I ran into a cloud bank mixed with fog

Popping out the other side, I spotted my pidgin dead ahead. The Englander never knew what hit him.

I watched as my pidgin slowly spiraled and burned all the way down.

I went back to the aerodrome before the Weather closed in.

I'm an avid ROF pilot, but, still, those are nice shots. Very atmospheric. One thing, though, for the history buffs. Archie is the nickname that British pilots used for aa. Came from an bawdy English song, I believe, that was popular at the time. "Archie! Certainly not!" were some of the words. Might have been a stage play, now that I think of it.

Good information, I will check around and see what the German pilots actually called the AAA. Thanks
