Viewsonic's 32", 10-bit, led backlit, 4k monitor. Can't even estimate the price of that thing. The 10-bit (which probably means this is an IPS panel) only is something that very few and high end monitors do, couple that with led, and on a 4k panel? Could go up to 10-20k$?

I've been running my 1920x1200 27" Dell for years now, and with 4x FSAA I really don't see the issue. Three of those LGs might be a nice ticket.

For those willing to do a bit more "work" for 27" IPS on a budget:

I wonder which graphic cards can handle an Eyefinity setup of 4k Displays. That's 4x more pixels than FullHD and 2.25x more pixels than a 2560x1440. Like running 2 rows of 6 portrait rotated screens. eek

Wild guess... $3499 street price smile

http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/news_archive/26.htm#viewsonic_vp3280-led

Quote:
ViewSonic have been showing off their new prototype VP3280-LED display recently and its attracting some attention because of its ultra-high resolution panel. The screen is 31.5" in size but offers a whopping 3840 x 2160 resolution! That gives you 150 pixels per inch (ppi) which will give you a very sharp image. The display is also capable of 10-bit colour and a colour palette of 1.07 billion.

There are a couple of catches of course. The first is that you need two Dual-link DVI or two DisplayPort connections to power the resolution. Secondly, ViewSonic reps say the VP3280, which will be marketed towards film studios, broadcasters, photographers and any other professionals in need of a compact 4K display, could ship by the end of the year, costing "about the price of a car." So it's not going to come cheap.

"Small car", as I said closer to 10-20k.

Specs actually say:
23" version with D-Sub, DVI and HDMI
and the
27" version only with D-Sub and HDMI

maybe they will actually change that but I doubt it.

still HDMI<->DVI adapter are quite common and reliable.

edit: some spelling... biggrin

Yeah, spec list is slow to appear on the site. I hope Prad.de does a review soon.

Shops have the laziest "shop masters". They paste text in the article name like "IPS277L/27"W BladeV IPS VGA DVI HDMI MHL" and a line of text in the specs with "VGA,DVI-D,HDMI,5ms". So far it makes sense for it to have: VGA, DVI-D, HDMI, MHL

Some shops post specs with 2xHDMI, bu I guess they consider MHL as "HDMI for mobile".

I've been on bicycle forums too long. I see "MHL" and think "Why does a monitor need a mandatory helmet law?"
