Are there any other options to select/aim at targets on the Mi-24 besides manually designating them with FLIR or just trying to shoot them with rockets/cannon when they enter your crosshairs? I know the Hind doesn't have radar, but there's a reason why there's a guy sitting on the front seat of the thing in real life.

I was playing this game today and was flying towards the target when I spot two comanches ahead of me. I kinda presumed that the game would "lock on" to either of them when I press numpad 0 but that didn't seem to work. What happened that I managed to shoot the other chopper down from above with a salvo of rockets. About 20 seconds from that I lose sight of the other one and it manages to shoot me down.

Trying to lock on to flying targets with the FLIR is pretty much impossible because it usually takes me about a minute just to find stationary targets on it while trying to keep the chopper flying (rain doesn't help). I know that there is an option to shoot the chaingun where your head points, but managing to down something with that doesnt seem very likely either with my skills.

Any help on this one? Is the co-pilot modeled at all on the MI-24? I have it set on Novice at the options. In my opinion the Mi-24 is the coolest flying thing ever developed and this is pretty much the only simulation that lets me fly it so I play most of the missions with it. Just need to learn the game first.

No, the gunner isn't modelled in the Hind. One of the forum members, arneh, did a fantastic job of creating a full 3D cockpit to allow you to fly the Hind. But the gunner hasn't been added. I suppose you need to approach flying the Hind like flying the single seat KA50 i.e. avoid AA contact.

Yes, it is desirable to add the shooter both on Mi-24V, and on Mi-28. From a cabin of the shooter the review is much better, than from a cabin of the pilot of Mi-24V.

P.S. Excuse for incorrect English as I know it not so well therefore I use the translator.

As far as I am convinced, you could use HMS for that. That is quick enough. Correct me if I am wrong

I also noticed (after installing V.14), I can't even do any combat with the Kiowa Warrior and the Sea Cobras and Super Cobras.

No HUD or Radar on them!

I figured out how to target with the MI-24.

It's risky.

Get within 2 1/2 miles of the targets.

Press DELETE to bring up the scope.

Press right key on the mouse to enable SPOT ON and it will automatically lock on any available target, no threat to high threat.

Then use the Shturm rockets.

I go into payload and change the default payload of 60 S5, 48 S8 and 4 Shturms to 48 S8 or 10 S13 and 8 Shturms.

I haven't figured out how to target the enemy on the MI-24 using the S5 or S8 rockets yet.

Another thing I noticed on the MI-24 is when you press H to hover, it will hover for a while and fall back down to ground and if you are high enough;

the chopper will get damaged so you constantly have to tap the Q key to keep it aloft and stable while you are targeting with the Shturms.

Is the A.I. on the MI-24 on V1.15 changed?

I see MI-24 in the Yemen campaigns on CAS and BAI and Ground Strike Missions stuck in a loop, keep repeating this is so and so 1-1, seeking firing position.

I notice that happens when they used up their 4 Schturm and they only have S4 and S8 rockets left.

Then they can't attack their targets!

Also happens in Lebanon, but I think it's more a line-of-sight-surrondings conflict than a weapon related one.
