I'm wondering how the Steamworks thing will work out. Most freeware addons are only available via the pay-for-premium UK Trainsim site and that's the go-to place with little offered elsewhere. Non premium can DL from UKTS but it's very slow. I can't work out if the Railworks community like it that way or would prefer to see an alternative.

I know what I'd prefer.

Yer, I know what i'd prefer too Vitesse. I can see it being a great addon hub. UKTS is good but it is what it says on the tin mostly. Steamworks should help open everything up a little more worldwide so not just uk repaint will appear but also some interesting none UK stuff. One of A2A's modellers is another trainsim user and he has Polish stuff in his install.

Actually UKTS is useless unless you pay. I tried few times to download some addons from their site but I simply refuse to pay a middleman for others people work.

I hope Steam Workshop will work out well. It's big thing.

I was weak and today took advantage of the massive railwaorks sales on steam and purchased the 'Settle to Carlisle Add-on' for half price. New route + new locos etc in one nice easy bundle.

Here I am taking out the included 158DMU for a passenger stint before dusk.

Understand your opioin, But the fee goes towards supporting the servers and everything else though. A lot of other sites out there of course to use for Railworks content.

I Love UKTS and have quite a few scenarios uploaded there as well.

Steam Workshop feature i am truely looking forward to as another method of sharing all content which gives it more of a public eye.

My own test route.

Moving in the night on rescue duties. A fellow EWS Class 37 has broken down.

And EWS Class 66, learning a new route with an empty wagon train
