All you have to do is check the MD5 sums before you install. Saves a lot of hassle regarding corrupted downloads. The HSFX developers are not in control of third parties hosting corrupted binaries.

I've just installed mine and it went flawlessly.

Well, I did get the same error message as you,TSmoke, but that was because I'd forgotten to unrar one of the packs.

I'm a bit baffled as to why the files are RAR'd, as they are exactly the same size, whether RAR'd or not confused

I don't think you need to unRAR anything, the HSFX installer does that for you.

Cheers,

Downloaded HSFX6 via torrent comes as a self install thingy, point it to my folder of 1946 and it runs to about half way and then asks for me to " place installation disk 2 into the floppy drive and press the OK button."

Have installed JSGME before the extraction of HSFX. Have a screen shot of the issue. But obviously don't know how to get it to show.

this happened to me and it was caused by a missing file duh

Hey folks, can anyone tell me what it is in HFSX that is causing Invisible text?

In the past I always used Toggle for engine selection, pressing it one time would say "engine 1 selected" Pressing it again would say "engine 1 unselected" Or words to that effect.

Now when I press 1, it says enginge 1, when I press it again, it says nothing, makes it very hard to know what engines I currently have running.

Also MIA are the texts that used to state "enemy aircraft destroyed".

Looks like you are playing in 'Expert' mode.

I guess so lol, since removing it, I no longer have to "guess" what engine I have selected, although in reality, a giant switch in the cockpit would serve as a helpfull reminder.. never do fully understand some changes in "realism" mods.

That said, Mossies still want to do doughnuts on the runway.. I need to figure that one out now smile

My guess is that you are applying throttle to only one engine....doughnut city... biggrin

Lol, I am out of practice, but not "THAT" out of practice :-P

Deselect both, Select 1, throttle 0, Ignition, deselect 1, select 2, throttle 0, ignition, deselect 2.
Now with both engines running, I have 2 choices, toggle all engines, or select all engines.

Yet at the moment, the Mossie swings violently to the right. Very confusing.
I am wondering if HSFX is causing my woes. Oh well, it doesn't impact my current career, although I often wish they would let me take a Mossie, instead of this Buffalo biggrin Still, horid thing has brought me home on 10 sorties so far, very few of which I would have survived in a wooden crate.

Edit.
I should point out the violence of the spin is well beyond "torques" expected effects. I feel like I am indeed running full power to 1 engine as you say, but I should not be, as I selected/toggled both.

Once you have started both engines, use the 'Select All Engines' command. If you are using the 'toggle' command after the 'Select All Engines' command, you are probably messing things up. I recommend never using the toggle command at all. Also, there is no reason to use the 'Deselect' command. Whatever engine you 'Select' is the only one that will respond to the following command(s).

You don't mention what kind of mission you are attempting with the Mossie (Quick Mission, Custom Mission, Campaign Mission, etc.) Even if you jam your throttle forward, the Mossie should swing left, not right. It seems you may have other issues.

If there is extreme wind in the mission, that could cause your plane to do what you described. You should always lock your tailwheel anyway, which would probably stabilize the plane.

*Sorry to say this, but I still think you are applying throttle to only one engine. It's very easy to check this. Simply look at the appropriate gauges and see if both engines are revving equally.
