Sniping is a big subject in Arma. Its not as simple as the video makes out... for example, he only talks about zeroing. What about the DMR, which has no zeroing? Correction tables: Weapon Ranging and Correction Tables Sniper Operations Manual here: Arma 2: OA - Sniper Operations Manual Lots of good general info there. IMO the best sniper team for DayZ is any scoped rifle with an L85 equipped spotter/agro guy.

Well from a practical standpoint since my primary weapon of choice is the DMR I tend to find it absolutely the cats meow when it comes to intermediate range targets. I know that it is automatically zeroed out to 400 meters. What I do is zoom in and get the actual height of the target and then either hold over or under based on the range estimate that I have for that target. I never shoot for heads on zombies and I only take headshots on players when I am 100% certain of a hit due to the stationary aspect of the other players in the game.
With a DMR and knowing your ranges you can accurately hit targets out to 600-700 meters in the game with it. Otherwise it is best to try and stalk into a better position/range and try to ambush them unless you are part of a sniper team with an AS50 or M107.
